We came here for a small wedding. The grounds and the gazebo were very pretty. The building does a good job blocking noise from the road. There is a very large playground and fun looking swimming pool. The kids at the playground didn't distract the ceremony at all, but I could see this being a drawback for some people - our party didn't care one bit.

The reception was in the small space with the balcony. It was nice to have the option of being inside for dancing or outside for socializing. The room and balcony do not have amazing lighting, but it was fine for the most part.

There's a built in kitchenette that worked well as a bar. There was room enough for about 80 guests with a small clearing for dancing.

Will definitely visit for the park and pool when our kids are older.

Hello my friend, welcome here, it's my pleasure to have a chance to introduce this city to you. here in Dekalb County, we have a lot of things like all the other cities in the USA, but Northern Illinois University is here, Big campus with beautiful sightsees, and you should visit the museum of the university first, and after that go to the other museum like green woods house, here have a lot of corn farms, and also corns festivals is one of ceremonies every year. Now in spring, you should try running in Hopkins Park. You hear the sounds of the birds and smell a lot of Cherry blames. Here in Dekalb, you can meet many friendly people around city. and also meet many studens are around the world to came here for study.

one of my favorite things in Dekalb is buy a pounch of flowers from Jewel-Osco ever weeks. unfortunately we do not have many manufacturing industries and jobs here, we should go to near big city for works in futures. But now I thinks here is the best time for enjoying of life.

Idk where all the good reviews are coming from the Banquet room itself was nice but the restrooms/locker room was disgusting. The cleanliness was nowhere to be found, toilets unflushed and dirty, no toilet paper in the stalls, no hand soap anywhere, floors wet & dirty and sinks were dirty looking! If not for that my rating would have been a bit higher, just hope whomever’s in charge or handles those things stay’s on top of that AT ALL TIMES!!! Especially, when knowing a space is getting rented out!

Our church, the DeKalb Church of Christ meets here on Sundays at 10 AM. The terrace room is large enough to hold 200 people and has a beautiful view of Hopkins park. A large balcony outside can provide extra seating for weddings and events. My husband and I had our wedding reception here and found it perfect for our needs. Scott, the park manager, had all the tables set up and ready in the layout we wanted. Glass crystal chandeliers and hardwood floors lend an atmosphere of elegance to the terrace room. There is also a kitchen off the room for easy serving and meal prep for weddings and events.

Hopkins park is a beautiful place for a wedding. Once the receptions get started inside though, the music is so stinking loud. I can hardly believe how loud it is. Forget about trying to sleep.

I rented the Terrace room for my mom's anniversary and I am now renting it for my reception... Love the kind and helpful service that they give! I will rent here any time I am hosting a big event.
