First off, the front desk was great! A gentleman and lady. Both were so nice. Check-in was quick. They put me in a room based on my profile. Not every hotel cares about your preferences but they do. And the kid, of course, was happy about those cookies lol.

The rooms and carpet in rooms and throughout in halls could stand to be updated. The hallways look nasty and door facings .
Overall, we have enjoyed our stay there. However,housekeeping should learn some English. It was hard communicating. They we're all so nice.

Found BED BUGS in our room and on one person in our room on 9/1/2024. Reported to housekeeping. They found another one in our presence. Manager was not on duty supposedly and front desk made aware. We were told manager would call us the next day, but she did not. Called twice since then, still no response. Been trying to get a refund on our room for a week. No response as of yet from manager Vicky Robledo. Will update review once we hear back from her.

Bad wet dog smell and wet carpet. Arrived to find carpet shampooer outside door to our assigned room 121. Most of carpet was soaking. Front desk said no available rooms to move into although many parking spots in front entrance were vacant at 8pm when we arrived. Front desk gave us 5 bath mats - hardly enough to cover all wetness. No other room availability in town so we stayed. We kept A/C temp mid-60s to alleviate hot humid air - there was an extra blanket. I awoke with migraine feeling sick from mold allergy. Hilton wouldn’t refund our paid reservation; simply gave us points valued at 40% of what we paid. Manager wasn’t on property during our stay. We will never return!!!
Bathroom newly updated & clean. Property looks professionally decorated, nice selection of breakfast foods and plenty of available seating. Welcoming complimentary beverage bar with coffee, hot teas & cookies. No sound proofing between walls.

I will start out by saying I enjoy staying at Home 2 suites around the country. I had reserved 2 different rooms for 1 night. I usually check under the mattress for bedbugs where ever I stay. Upon checking the 1st suite I found what seemed to be a bed bug under the mattress.
There were Big hardened globs of dried ketchup, and a lot of food under the mattress and headboard , a breeding ground for the bedbugs. The 2nd room had no bugs but had a lot of food as the other.
I had to check in late and unfortunately had to stay for my situation. The front desk at night was nice and I was down graded to other room… but I felt so uncomfortable there. The next morning the manager did not change my price from the downgraded room as “she said she could not.” Not a good experience at all! I will still continue to stay at Home 2 suites but never this one again.

Very good hotel. Only reason for 4 stars are some maintenance issues. We had a 1 bedroom suite which has 2 AC units. The one in the bedroom didn't work and the one in the living room had a bad wall control. Some ares of carpet are pulling up just a little. Neither items are terrible, they just need addressed. The furniture is not really our taste. The chairs and couch in the room are uncomfortable to us. No deduction for that, because this is our opinion. Breakfast is very good. They had croissant sandwiches, sausage gravy and biscuits, cereals, bread and bagels, make your own waffles and fruit. They also have fresh baked chocolate chip cookies that are available all the time. They are really good and a nice touch. service was excellent. Very polite at check-in and any time we spoke to any employee.

I've stayed at this hotel in Fultondale like it was my second home for the last 2 years. It used to be great with a friendly staff but my last few stays I feel the place has been on a steady decline. The new lady behind the counter is completely unresponsive to any concerns. Things that seem like should be regular cleaning and maintenance such as the laundry facility, the carpets, tile are severely lacking. Next time I arrive in Birmingham I will be finding a new hotel to stay in.

We booked through a second party for this past weekend (Friday-Sunday) b/c my son played in the PG tournament in Gardendale. We weren’t able to get there Friday night b/c our two Frenchies got out and we had to search for them for hours. (The last thing on our minds was to call the hotel to inform them we weren’t going to be able to check-in Friday night). We get to the hotel Saturday afternoon to check-in after my son’s games and we were told our reservation had been cancelled b/c we didn’t arrive Friday night. We spoke with James, the manager, and he told us to call the company we booked through to see if there was something they could do on their end, so we did. The lady asked what our emergency was and then said she would have to call us back. We waited 30+ mins for a return call. In the meantime, James told us to bring our dogs and our items inside to wait. He spoke to the second party rep himself and told her he had rooms available and to either give us a new room or refund us our money and let us pay for another/new room since we were already there. Without him suggesting this to the second party rep, we would have been without a room and our money would not have been refunded. Huge shout out to James and the rest of the staff there. They were all super helpful, very friendly, and completely understanding! Hands down some of the best care we have received in a while and it was definitely appreciated.
