During my recent stay, I was thoroughly impressed by the exceptional quality of both the accommodations and the breakfast offerings. The hotel bed was a highlight of my stay, providing unparalleled comfort that ensured a restful night's sleep. The mattress was perfectly supportive, and the linens were luxuriously soft, making it difficult to leave the bed each morning.
The breakfast was equally impressive. The variety and quality of the food exceeded my expectations. From freshly baked pastries to a selection of hot dishes, everything was prepared to perfection.

Positive: The breakfast was excellent. We always try to stay at Holiday Inn Express when we travel. The main reason is we get real food for breakfast. They are also clean, comfortable and generally well maintained. Negative: I think we were in room 206. The mattress was absolute junk and should have been replaced long ago. There were two holes or depressions in it where people always sleep that were so big we put the extra pillows in them!

Room and bathroom was very nice. Comfy bed and spacious room too. Breakfast was decent but hard boiled eggs were dried out. I'm not a fan of the Scrambled eggs on hotel buffets but these were okay. The warm cinnamon rolls were great.

I really enjoyed the hotel and the hot tub and pool. The temperatures were just right.

When my room was not serviced on the second day I stayed, I mentioned it when I checked out and my bill was adjusted.

Thanks for good service. Would just love bacon on the breakfast.

Also wish the Holiday Inn Express in Perryville had a hot tub like the one in Vandalia. It is the best. Thanks.

I reserved the king suite room with the jetted tub and after checking in and going to my room and seeing it in fact was not the room I reserved I went back down to the front desk to voice my concerns and show the front desk clerk my reservation confirmation. He reviewed it and said he was very sorry there must have been a glitch in their system to let 2 people reserve the same room. Long story short the other guest had already checked into that room so I didn’t get to stay in the room I had reserved and we looking forward to all week long. I voiced multiple times that I would like to speak to the hotel management about this situation especially considering I drove over an hour just to stay in this room. The front desk employee assured me he understood my frustration and would personally make sure the Manager would call me to try to figure something out. That was a Saturday night into Sunday night and now it is Wednesday evening and I still have not heard a word from anyone. Very disappointing

I had a great experience at this hotel. I was able to relax comfortably, I also enjoyed the pool and the breakfast. The staff was friendly and helpful. I love how there was coffee made early in the morning since I'm an early riser. Overall great experience

This hotel was very clean including the main room and bathroom. The halls and other areas in the hotel were also clean. The employees were very friendly but not overwhelming. The breakfast had a great variety which is good for all guests. I would recommend this hotel and also recommend visiting the downtown area of Vandalia, IL.

Very nice hotel, good location and decent amenities. Overall a good choice if staying in the area. Unfortunately, during my recent stay (week of February 2, 2025) the elevator was out of service the entire stay. Dragging luggage up and down the stairs is not what I was expecting.
