We were welcomed and accommodated well. The rooms are roomy, clean and have all you would need for a stay. Our desk clerk, Becca, was so great with us. I had my almost 92 year old Mom with us. We requested adjoining rooms so that she would feel safe. Those were not the rooms saved for us but Becca quickly changed that and spent time talking with my mom every time we passed the desk. She represented the hotel so well. Kelly helped me in the morning, especially to find a way to give positive comments to this facility. We would choose Holiday Express Inn in Peru, IL again.

On the morning of departure, my key cards for 2 rooms stopped working 30 minutes before closing time. As I was making several trips in and out to load my family's belongings in the car, I could not access the side door near my car, and was faced with a much longer walk around to the front door on a cold morning. Upon reaching the front desk, no-one was present to correct this. If I had not had family still in the rooms, I would have been locked out and unable to retrieve my belongings.

This may seem an unfortunate accident, but when I checked out and described the situation, the desk clerk told me that they shut down keys at 11:30, because check out time is 12:00. This moves it from a minor hiccup to deliberate and totally unacceptable. If your check out time is 11:30, then say it is 11:30. If it is noon, then I expect the keys that I paid for active until 12:00.

My wife was disappointed with the quality and freshness of a couple of the breakfast items. The omelette in particular seemed quite old.

Otherwise the room was comfortable and clean enough. The evening staff was friendly and helpful.

The value did not align with the cost! At $200 per night per room (3) I would have expected better amenities. Hot tub was out of order, breakfast selections were scarce (and it was not busy), pancake and waffle machines not working. Big disappointment for a higher end facility. I could have stayed across the street for half the price!

I recently had the pleasure of staying at this hotel and was thoroughly impressed. The rooms are beautifully designed, having been recently renovated, which gives them a fresh and modern feel. They are spacious, comfortable, and equipped with all the amenities you could need.

Unlike most hotel gyms, this one is well-equipped with high-quality machines and weights, making it perfect for anyone looking to maintain their workout routine while traveling. The indoor pool is generously sized, and the heated spa pool is ideal for relaxing after a long day.

They offer a "greener stay" option for guests staying more than one night. If you choose to forgo daily room service, you earn an extra 500 points per day—a fantastic way to reward guests for being environmentally conscious.

The staff truly elevate the experience here. From the moment I walked in, check-in was a breeze, and every interaction was handled with professionalism and friendliness. Overall, I would highly recommend this hotel for its excellent facilities, attentive service, and dedication to sustainability. A five-star experience from start to finish!

Definitely one of the best IHG properties in the area. One of the few Holiday inns to still have a hot tub. The staff is always cheerful, courteous and helpful. The rooms are clean and very well appointed. Amenities and location are excellent.

Stayed in March2025. Rooms were clean and recently renovated. Breakfast was okay, but the pancake machine wasn't working. Pool and hot-tub were closed during our stay.

We stayed at this hotel for my niece’s wedding. The rates even with the group rate were astounding (more than $200 per night with taxes). The rooms are okay and the location is just off the interstate with a view of the Shell gas station. Our first night was horrible - no sleep due to the loud drunks prowling the hallways from 12 to 2am. I called the front desk and was told “look they are with another wedding”. Not helpful. My husband asked that our room be cleaned - it was not. Towels are thin, small and lacking any ability to absorb. Breakfast was yuck. Cereal, hard eggs, harder bagels, and there may have been other food but when something was gone, it was gone (no replenishment). Customer service people were rude - we called for help with the TV guide (since the one they provided was erroneous and there was no onscreen guide). We were told “honey you are just going to have to channel surf because I haven’t been here that long and have no idea what to do”. Had we another choice for our stay, we would have taken it.

I have stayed at a lot of Hokiday inn expresses never have I ever had this bad of an experience! Staff was rude ! Hot tub was broke and dirt green water in it . Something is wrong with the elevator smells like electrical shortage and drops when you get in it . Our room and bathroom was dirty !
