This hotel is in a good location, near the interstate, gas stations and restaurants. It looks like the hotel is in the process of renovation as there was scaffolding on one side of the building. The carpet and furnishings were updated and looked new. Beds were pretty comfortable. Breakfast was pretty good and several options were offered.

The only downside is there is no hot tub, and the shower curtain is hung too high. It is hard to hand your towel from the rod and the curtain barely hangs in the tub, allowing water to get all over the floor.

I usually stay when I come into town to visit family. But they're not being as clean. I seen a pregnant roach in my room. At this point I'm sure it's more walking around. After paying over 200 a night I would expect the cleaness of the hotel should be exceptional.

I’m very sad on how I was treated today by the Gm at holiday inn express in Fultondale Alabama. I was appalled by the customer service that I received. I pray that they do better. I work for IHG and Our GM is wonderful. He would have never spoke to a guest the way I was talked to. I cancelled my reservation for this location. No one could pay me to stay there. I booked through someone else. I will pay for good customer service

We stopped in for one night on our way down to Florida. The lady at the front desk was kind of sarcastic and not super friendly. She wasn’t clear on the pricing. As she told me my total price was $145 for the queen suite. But I was charged $180 because of taxes but she said told me it was $145 total with tax. Then we checked in and the rooms were nice. Kids loved the pool. We all got woken up very early that morning to a fire alarm due to the kitchen cooking. Then the breakfast was an AWFUL experience! Both pancake makers were broken. We had to wait 20 min for bacon, and then my friend opened the bread container and a ROACH freaking crawled out on the counter and down the wall! We were immediately grossed out and left. Our appetite was gone. I definitely do NOT recommend this place!

Southern hospitality at its worst. After taking care of my elderly parents for a week, I drive all day long and just wanted a clean place to crash. I will be in the area another week and I honestly have never had an issue with IHG before. The front clerk Latonia was very annoyed for having to do her job I guess, or maybe I wasn't dark enough for her. I was trying to check in and she asked for my ID #. I thought she meant my confirmation #. I was very tired ?. Then she said did you not read the contract? I was like what? She needed my drivers license. I didn't get smart with her I was too tired. I didn't want any drama. She was very rude and for no reason ?. I know one thing I paid 220 dollars to stay there and was disrespected when she insinuated I couldn't read. I complained the next morning to the clerk she said she would let the manager know and that she would reach out to me. Shocker! She didn't. So when I checked out I asked for the manager and talked with Heather who basically acted like I was lying. I didn't ask for a refund but I am not lying or even embellishing. They made me give 20 dollar deposit for incidentals which there were none and I was wondering ? what that was for. So now I am still tired and annoyed as well. If you wanna deal with Fani Willis this is your spot otherwise I would go somewhere else. Totally unprofessional and no one on maintenance staff spoke English but they seemed alot nicer and didn't treat the customers like trash. I just read some other interesting reviews of this place and as someone with tons of managerial experience it is quite clear the GM needs replaced. The maids should have Heather and Latonias jobs. They know what customer service is. Do better Holiday Inn Express in Fultondale. I will be spending my money at Springfield Suites the rest of the week. Way nicer, totally worth it. I have stayed at Super 8s better than this. The tornado destroyed the wrong hotel. Update no way to contact the owner as they did not leave number or email. I did however leave my number with Melanie. Hopefully the owner will return my call. I will update again.

Positive: Location Negative: Both pancake machines didn?t work; made it work by turning it off and on. The other machine had a belt error. The attendant had no clue how to fix the problem.There was a very large palmetto bug strolling in the room; brought to the front desk.

Well maintained, comfortable beds, and friendly staff.

But do yourself a favor and inform the over-caffeinated family of six immediately next-door that all the noise from their chaos comes right through door that joins your room and theirs for possible expansion.

Very pleased with our stay here. We had a very clean room. There is lots of parking. The hotel is in a safe area and right off the highway. Very centrally located to lots of attractions we went to. The heated pool was a big hit with the kids as it was chilly out.
