Overall the hotel was nice. Our suite was extra big and was super spacious. Cleaners could do a better job there was a dead bug on the floor and the shower had hairs and brown stuff on it. In the hall ways it looks like they might be updating fire protection cause exposed wires in receptacles. The only ice maker in the hotel was on 5th floor. The ice maker was empty, looked like it was falling apart and had brown rust looking stuff in the ice. The pancake maker broke after 1 use. I didn’t think to take photos but should have.

As part of an academic training program, I stayed for 28 days at the Holiday Inn Express in Illinois. The hotel offers an excellent breakfast—always warm and with plenty of delicious options—and the rooms are comfortable, especially the beds and fluffy pillows. However, what truly set my experience apart was the outstanding service provided by the hotel staff, particularly Ana at the front desk.

From the moment I arrived, Ana went above and beyond to make my stay as comfortable as possible. She greeted me with a warm smile every day and was always ready to listen attentively to any concerns. Her friendly demeanor, dedication, and thorough knowledge of her role made a significant difference. Ana consistently went the extra mile to ensure everything was perfect, creating a welcoming environment where I could relax and recharge after my training sessions.

One notable example of Ana’s exceptional service was during a busy weekend when a large wedding celebration caused significant noise. Understanding my need for rest, Ana proactively found a solution and arranged for me to move to a quieter room. Her thoughtfulness and quick action ensured I could sleep well and stay focused on my training.

I also want to commend Roland and the shuttle driver (whose name, unfortunately, I can’t recall) for their excellent service. Roland’s assistance and the driver’s helpful advice about navigating the city and transportation made my stay even more seamless.

I highly recommend this hotel for its comfortable accommodations, convenient location, and most importantly, the incredible hospitality. I am truly grateful for Ana and the team’s care and professionalism—they made my extended stay an absolute pleasure and allowed me to focus fully on my training.

No thanks to United, I had to overnight in Chicago. This was on the list of selections for a covered stay. Only issue is they advertised shuttle and we tried calling 4 times with no answer. Then told no shuttle. Needed to Lyft but receipt going to United. The desk clerk was efficient and friendly even as he had a bunch of stressed travelers checking in. There is a selection of frozen foods and snacks to buy at reasonable rates. The room was older and renovated and large. Carpet strips loose in a few areas. The bed had one of the cleanest bed shirts I have seen in a long time. Pillows and bed comfortable. Decent morning breakfast selection. Shuttle was available hourly to the airport which went smoothly. I will recommend them!

I had a very terrible experience here. I booked through a third party app for a king size bed. The front desk person decided to give us a room with 2 full size beds in it. When I went to the front desk and told him that is not our room and showed him he did not care. I told him I payed for a king bed why was I put in a room I did not purchase. He yelled at me and told me to take it up with the third party. The third party said that is the hotels mistake. After a hour of complaining the very rude front desk person decided to give me my room.

About 14 miles away from ohare Airport. After a flight got canceled United bit me up here for the night for compensation. Rooms where nice and clean. The breakfast buffet had a good selection.

This is not the nicest hotel in the world, but it seems to be well kept. Except for a box fan blowing out of a window as you see in the pictures. Our flight got canceled and United put us up here for the night. The room is OK. But Ronald who checked us in at 10:00 PM was wonderful. He had a long line of disgruntled Airline passengers and he was orderly and friendly. He represented the hotel in an extraordinary fashion.

** I believe this hotel provides extra horrible rooms to distressed passengers. I would never stay here voluntarily and if an airline offered me this hotel again because of delay or cancellation I would sleep at the airport instead **||||This is the worst hotel I have stayed at in at least a decade. The room smelled horrible, almost like rotting meat. I do not think the bed sheets were cleaned, the pillow cases smelled like body odor. There were several stains on the sheets and hair all over. I was on the first floor so there were some bugs, not a crazy amount, but there should be zero. ||||I am an IHG Plat but because I was on a distressed passenger stay, the hotel did not provide points or recognize my status in anyway. That is fine, but do not expect your status to save you from a horrible stay here. ||||Pictures show the bathroom air vent, which looks like it has never been cleaned and one of the many weird stains or food on my sheets.

This Holiday Inn is located where I’m not likely choose, but I was tired and the hotel is easily set near the freeway, when headed east anyways. Maybe it was my tiredness, but I wasn’t overly impressed. I’ll note I wasn’t reminded, but I didn’t ask, about breakfast hours or other hotel amenities, which I would have looked into if I had booked here before my stay
