This hotel was built in 1888. It is an incredibly cool building and the decor in the lobby area and downstairs appears original. Very cool place!

Pros... The building is a piece of history. You feel as if you stepped back in time when you stay here. Staff was extremely courteous and pleasant. The room was what you would expect in an old hotel. Bed was comfy, pillows were nice.

Cons... The largest complaint I would have would be the lack of A/C and the lack this being mentioned on their website. We had to open the windows to cool the room. Bad part of that is our window faced across the street where there is a homeless mission building. We heard them (about 50) all night cursing and raising hell and cops showing up at different times.

Overall, the experience was a good one. I enjoyed the building and decor. And again, the staff was excellent.

This place and the staff are amazing!!! We had our company Christmas party here on December 8th, and it was done so well! Working with Jessie to plan it for months was easy, as she was super helpful and answered any questions quickly and efficiently. The night of was flawless... the staff members worked as an awesome team, and everyone was super friendly and fun. Our meals, which were catered by the Eagle House as well, were phenomenal. And oh goodness, the fruit cobbler they made for dessert... 😋! We wanted to have everyone stay here in the rooms, but unfortunately, there weren't enough for everyone for both nights.

The building itself is full of old school charm and architecture. You will find yourself occupied for quite some time just taking a tour through the well maintained building. It's obvious they take a lot of pride in the hotel.

We ended up ditching our Best Western and booked a Premium King room here on Saturday since we loved the ambiance and appeal of the place. The room was spotless, the bed was comfortable with ample pillows, with a very cool Victorian appeal. It was a wonderful stay and we will definitely be staying here again in the future! Do yourself a favor and treat yourself to a stay at the Eagle House with its wonderful everything, or let them host your event party, or better yet both! Thank you so much everyone!!

Had the most incredible time celebrating with a large group of friends at the Historic Eagle House - we started off with dinner at Tavern 1888 (wonderful hospitality and service, absolutely delicious food and drinks), then moved across the ballroom to Phatsy Kliens for drinks. 10/10 from start to finish - thank you!

I booked the Eagle House for an event that I planned and put on in October 2021. It was a small conference with about 50 people attending, with a casual box lunch served during the day and a formal sit-down dinner that night.

The Eagle House ballroom proved to be a perfect venue for our event. Jenny and her staff were attentive to our every need. They set up the space in advance, provided audio/video equipment to be used by our speakers, and were helpful in meeting each of the spontaneous needs that invariably come up during the course of an event like this.

Many of the attendees of my event were from out of town, and these guests seemed very taken with the beauty and elegance of the Eagle House ballroom. Also, not surprisingly, the food served at this event was superb. My guests were very happy with the dinner, which was praised all around.

I cannot recommend the Eagle House (Inn at 2nd & C) highly enough if you are planning to hold an event in Eureka. This venue really has no equal -- it is classy, elegant, stylish, and also it is attached to a restaurant that serves amazing food. You will not be disappointed if you choose to host an event at the Eagle House as we did.

My husband and I recently got married at the Eagle House. Overall, we had a great experience. The venue is beautiful and the perfect size for our small wedding (~65 people). The food that Chef Woody and his staff made for us was delicious. We had plenty of alcohol to choose from for our pop-up bar and the bartender was amazing. We also appreciated the special attention we received from Chef Woody and the Eagle House staff during and after our wedding and reception.
The staff was mostly amazing. Allie Hulman, in particular, was wonderful. We had some challenges with receiving timely and complete responses to our emails from some staff members, which made the planning process frustrating at times. It was also difficult to keep our contract up to date. I think the system of developing and updating venue contracts could be improved.
One of our biggest challenges was with booking rooms at the Inn at 2nd & C. We originally booked rooms 44 and 45, which were recommended to us. However, even though we had booked these rooms, the staff repeatedly tried to offer our rooms to other guests in our party. We caught it the first time, but at the last minute one of our rooms was booked to someone else. This caused some major stress on the night before our wedding. Thankfully Jennifer Metz was able to find a solution to the problem. Things worked out in the end, but it seems as though the booking system (and possibly training) at the inn could be improved.
Overall, our wedding and reception went smoothly, despite some bumps along the way. I would recommend this venue for any event.
