We were very happy with our stay here. The staff was courteous and the check in was very smooth. The hotel is a little dated but is in the process of being updated. The rooms was comfortable, the shower was fine, and the view from our balcony was splendid. We were able to spend an afternoon at the waterpark which was great. If the price is right, we will definitely consider staying here on our next trip to the Phoenix area.

Not worth the money. Brought the kiddos here for a fun 3 day weekend and it was not anywhere near what they portray online. The resort pool is small and so is the lazy river. The tiles are dirty and falling apart. The rooms had old dirty carpet the beds are uncomfortable the water slide isn't working which is the only thing my kids wanted to do. Parking is a disaster half the building is under construction. I will never ever stay here again. My kids and I are super bummed and our weekend is ruined. Plenty of other places to stay with the kids and actually have a good time. For a 600 dollar plus price point we felt absolutely robbed.... until we hit the pool bar where we were charged 48 dollars for two drinks!!!!

Took the family on a staycation. The River Ranch was fun and relaxing. The cost of everything I guess was normal, but I found it very pricey from the food to the drinks. The hours of the River Ranch were odd. The pool closes at 6pm everyday, including weekends. I thought that was a little too early for my liking. Overall, we had a great time and I do recommend.

My first thought is "this is a Hilton" one of the top brands in the world. After staying in DC at the wharf. Quite a difference.
But it all comes down to perspective. Once you overlooked some of the tired conditions of the room, building and common areas. You can see a "dated beauty" that needs just a face-lift.
The charm, the feel, the architecture is all there. I don't go to an historical hotel expecting to see today's modern ish designs. Do I wish the embellishments were updated, absolutely! Yet, when my wife just soaked in the historical feel of the campus - we felt different.
The staff was friendly, the pool and water park are although needing a little attention were enjoyable, the restaurant - well yes it was a whole in the wall. But I can't say we were overcharged, and I can't say it it was bad. It was right for the value and our view was priceless.
So question is, would we stay there again, absolutely! We would look at our time there as a step back to simpler era, enjoying what it is, not what it is not.
PS - Our shower had the best water pressure ever!!!

Wow, I fell in love with the staff! Everyone is came across was very friendly and helpful. My stay here gor the week was pleasant and enjoyable. The food options are good but the beer options are better! Lol... I enjoyed the views the landscaping and the beautiful fountain sounds. I can't wait till the rooms are remodeled. I will definitely come back here again.

We did a staycation at this resort and weren’t really thrilled. For the price, I expected a better experience. The rooms are very outdated and don’t come with smart tvs. There was a broken dresser in the room and the couch had a bad dip so it wasn’t comfortable. We couldn’t get the lamps to turn on.

The water park part was fun but being unable to bring in water in an insulated bottle seemed unreasonable in Arizona. You can only bring sealed bottles of water which get warm very quickly. The park also felt small for the price.

Service was mostly good. No real complaints there.

Hilton Resort on the Rock has a nostalgic charm, definitely from another era, but it still holds up. While some parts feel a bit dated, the rooms are nicely updated, the pool area is lively and fun, and the restaurant food exceeded expectations. A solid, laid-back stay with a good vibe.

We booked through Amex Travel, trusting their recommendation, but this stay has been a huge disappointment. We’re here to celebrate our youngest son’s graduation from GCU and were looking forward to a relaxing resort-style experience. Unfortunately, this property is anything but a resort.

The room we were given had visible stains on the carpet, a dangerously loose door knob that’s pulling out of the socket, and huge gaps in the door panels—zero sense of privacy or security. The patio is tiny, with just one chair. The entire property feels old, poorly maintained, and run down. Walkways are dirty, decorative planters are being used as trash bins, and smoking near entrances is constant and unpleasant.

The photos used to advertise this resort are extremely misleading. The elevator was slow, smelled like smoke, and had trash on the floor. The fitness center closes at 7pm, and the lazy river pool shuts down at 6pm—not exactly what you’d expect from a ā€œresortā€ experience.

Dining was another disappointment. At the on-site restaurant, Hole in the Wall, I was served the flattest Diet Coke I’ve ever had. We ordered chips and salsa with guacamole, but got what looked and tasted like store-bought Pace. Then we were told they were out of guacamole—odd, since the Cobb salad we also ordered came with fresh avocado. My half-rack of ribs was burnt and rock-hard.

While the staff have been friendly, the property itself does not meet Hilton standards in any way. We’re choosing to spend the rest of our trip exploring the area instead of relying on the resort for food or relaxation. We’ll never stay here again, and we won’t recommend it to anyone.

Last time we visited Phoenix, we stayed at the Omni—beautiful, well-maintained, with adult-friendly ambiance, great food, and upscale rooms. This Hilton does not compare in the slightest. Hilton should really assess this location—it doesn’t live up to the brand or the promise of a resort.
