Out of the way place one would normally pass by as it tucked away in an area northwest of Cheyenne proper and not the easiest to find. However, once arriving here there is some important history here and it is also a great place to learn about and see many American species of trees. The arboretum is relatively large so plan an hour or more if you want to explore the area thoroughly. Not that much time available? Still a nice place to walk around. There is a water taps (seasonal) and a vault toilet for those off peak hours. There is also a greenhouse here worth visiting if you are here 10-3 weekdays. Also there is a collection of older fine houses(private USDA) from the 1950's and earlier.

This beautiful little place is great for hiking, dog walking ( leashed preferred) and bird watching.
A walking tour of the grounds reveals interesting tidbits about the trees and bushes. There is a herd of deer that graces the area.
Beware: only one porta potty is available. No water. Bring your own chairs as there is no sitting available.

National Cemetery is a beautiful tribute to those who served the United States.

I wish the walking pathways were cut/trimmed and were able to walk on again.
