What a great stay! 20 minute drive from Cody. Quiet wonderfulness out on the farm. Beautiful, eclectic, and artsy house. Comfortable and relaxing. Great place to unplug. Leave the laptop and phone in the car! More than a night or 2 to really appreciate the experience. Must visit!

I stayed here with 2 friends and we had a lovely time. We spent 2 nights in the Grand Farm House which is beautiful with incredible floor to ceiling views of Hart Mountain and the surrounding area. We then had one additional night in the Teepee, a nice change of pace with some great star gazing. If you stay, be sure to get up for the cowboy breakfast which is simple but delicious and farm fresh (might change but we had pancakes, sausage, and coffee). I look forward to returning here whenever I'm able.

We stayed here on the way to yellowstone. Its pretty close to Cody - about 15 min. It is hard to find, the iPhone map not accurate! Rod and his wife are wonderful, easy to reach. They greet you personally and walk you through the property. The teepee was big and set up with cots and thick sleeping bags. We had extra bedding, which we did use as it gets pretty cold at night. The sunset was spectacular! stars amazing! It is super quiet - can't hear anything except coyotes. Rod made a fabulous breakfast for us outside at tables near the teepee, which huge pancakes and his home made organic sausage. We so enjoyed visiting this place and the wonderful people who share their land and farm with visitors. They gave us great tips for our trip. Just a fantastic experience.

Rod's Big Quiet Camping is very unique! The site is a short distance away from the Heart Mountain Internment Camp museum. When you see the sign for the Camp, you turn there and drive past the Camp and head up the same road. Very easy to find - the most difficult part was finding the left into the Big Quiet Camping, if you aren't paying attention! There is a nice big sign indicating the left turn. || ||The teepee we stayed in was a Range one - a teepee that holds 2 people - with a wooden floor, super comfortable cots and nice warm sleeping bags. There are also a couple of larger teepees, a sheepherders wagon, a yurt and small wall tents to stay in. ||||We were able to have a campfire to take off the chill. Even though it was hot during the day, after the sun set, it got quite chilly! The next morning it was very chilly, so it is wise to have a jacket or sweatshirt!||||The Cowboy Breakfast was awesome! Huge plate sized pancakes and breakfast sausage made from the pigs that Rod raises was so good. The coffee was great as well.||||This is a definite rustic setting - pit toilets and a tent to shower in. The shower does have hot water. There can be thistles and weeds to step on, so shoes are a must when you go traipsing off across the field from teepee to latrine!|| ||It was a very unique experience and we will definitely stay here again.

This is a beautiful property. However, the marketing is extremely misleading. After a year planning a trip with my sisters that had not been together in years, we thought this was the perfect place to go....solitude and beauty. However, there was zero privacy or solitude...the upstairs where the owners live was not separated at all from the basement we rented. It was a complete open floor plan. There was not a private entrance, so we had to walk through their living space to get downstairs. No door at the base of the staircase either. There is a lights out policy of 9:30pm, which I don't know about you, but when I'm on vacation, I don't want to go to bed at 9:30, especially when they boast "the best star gazing" and stars don't come out in Wyoming until at least 10pm in the summer. When we rented this space, it wasn't our intention of blaring music and partying all night, but we did think we would be able to sit in the living space and quietly play a card game and catch up after all the years apart.
Again, a beautiful property, but not one to "host a family reunion" or "you have the entire space to share with only those you are traveling with".

I’m really sad about this review as I am sure the owner is great. However, as a young woman traveling solo, this is creepy and a red flag!
Rod changed the entire booking description after I had booked and then did not acknowledge the changes at all.
And because I booked through Hipcamp, I lost $200 in fees despite cancelling my trip…

We also found this campground to be a big disappointment. We decided to book this expensive campground due to the great reviews and the fact breakfast would be provided. We found a crowded campground filled with people who were smoking, not wearing masks and were loud. We never met the magical Rod who is apparently so hospitable. Garbage cans were overflowing. Sanitizer ran out. We felt like staying there was an infection risk. And yes, no breakfast is provided in any form. There is no discount to account for this.

This is a LOVELY camping spot!!! The land is AMAZING, there’s an outdoor hot shower, comfortable hammocks by the creek, a wonderful cowboy breakfast every morning, and the folks who run it are outstanding people!!! I will definitely be going back! It’s also in a great location! Close to Heart Mountain, the Japanese Interpretive Center, and just the right distance from the noise of Cody to be well worth the 20 minute drive.
