I've been playing the horses at Hawthorne since the '80s. While in Chicago I had to visit the track. I was disappointed that there's no longer a grandstand. It's partially demolished. The Fanatics sports book is modest. Very limited food selection.

Legacy! Perfect track weather this afternoon!

Love Fanatics sportsbook crowd..
Will be back!! Front of house was friendly yet professional and the locals were informed of the race schedule.
Not sure if they'll let kids in here but last time I was here I wasn't old enough to bet - they should change that!
I collected two dollar bills and got a ride in the gate car at another place that closed.

Went last season and I wasn't disappointed but the stands could've used more TLC, the inside sitting as well. I ordered a double shot bloody mary & it was like $17 which is a stretch, but it was an ok drink.
Those are my only concerns I just hope they put a little work into the place so they can stay open & running!
Will be back for the live races!!!

What was once a very nice racetrack is now just barely hanging on. Don't get me wrong, it's still nice, the staff is friendly and the tracks are well maintained. It's a solid track, it's just very "tired" and in desperate need of renovations. I would love to see this track returned to it's glory as it really is a nice place..

Old time days when sportsman's park was across the parking lot. Hawthorne pulled off both flats and harness. But sportsman's was the far better venue.
