We stayed one night here at Harvey House. It is named after a 1950's movie which is available in the rooms on DVD to watch, which we did watch!
So good and simple with a great story.
The woman who owns it, really loves what she does and it shows.

Despite new regulations for BnB's since Covid she has proven resilient in providing great company, healthy food selection for breakfast, quiet place with wonderful calming music.

The train goes by frequently but it is not bothersome. You are in the outskirts of the city so there will be trains.

We walked to dining about 7 min away for dinner.
The bed was incredible, pillows fluffy, and sheets incredibly soft, you don't want to leave the bed.
Peacefull ambiance with dimming lights sure to make a romantic night!

The fireplace was relaxing and kept the place very warm.
We had the Garden room and the tub was very welcoming for two people to unwind.

Highly recommend this local gem and support this wonderful woman keeping kindness alive in this city.

This is our third year staying at the Harvey House, and it is far and away the best lodging experience out of any Airbnb, bed and breakfast, or hotel we've stayed at. Our favorite is the Jimmy Stewart suite, but we've stayed in other rooms as well, and they are lovely. The inn is private, quiet, and even with a full house, you hardly know anyone else is there. Upon checkout, we were surprised to hear that the place was full, because we hadn't heard anyone else most of the time we were there. Beth, the host, really has an eye for interior design, with an aesthetic that is subtle, classic, and timeless. We always go there as a couple when we are visiting friends, but it's also a great place to land if you are traveling by yourself, or on business. It's in Oak Park, which is lovely, and it's a quiet place to retreat to at the end of the day if you are spending time in the city. When we visit, my husband always says the Jimmy Stewart suite is the nicest place we've stayed, and I agree with him. We will definitely be back

What a lovely little B&B. Comfortable, quiet, and old school design. Host was lovely and offered to put the cat back in her apt since I was allergic (but it wasn't an issue as the B&B was very clean!) The breakfast was wonderful too. Stayed in the garden room on the second floor. Could hear the train as other reviews have said but it was more like white noise than anything else and wasn't a bother. I slept just fine! Will return next time I am in Chicago!

We had the pleasure of staying at Harvey House over Christmas this year. It was our first time there, and we would return again. The location is ideal to town for eateries, shopping and commute into the city. Our room was very clean, quiet (you can hear the El train though not loudly) and well stocked. We did not eat breakfast since we were in town to be with family, but it looked as if Beth offers lots of options- continental items and one warm egg dish usually. She has a Jura coffee maker, which guests cannot use. She’s usually available by 8am to make it, and there are pod options when she is not there. For the value, it is a bit pricier, but inn & hotel options in Oak Park are limited. Beth is extremely gracious and though we did not need local recommendations, I’m sure she would be most resourceful. Our only issue was that the room was not holding temp and she was waiting on a repairmen, but she had provided a portable heater until she could get him out over the holiday.

Absolutely delightful. This place is very thoughtfully planned and cared for. We enjoyed every aspect of our stay, from the extremely cozy room to the breakfast to the host to the location. Literally no complaints, and we would love to come stay again.

I have stayed 4 times at HH to visit family in Chicago. During my most recent stay I mentioned to Beth - the owner- that my Mom was not eating breakfast. She insisted that I take some of the delicious baked treats that she put out for breakfast to my Mom. You're not getting that kind of care for guests anywhere else. The Inn itself is a delight - clean, comfortable and peaceful. It's my home away from home when I visit Chicago.

I love this place. The owner is very friendly, professional and most helpful. This location is modern and updated. We were here for our anniversary. Close to home but were transported to this great location. Great food, excellent service. Walking distance tp Oak park restaurants and movie theater.

Lovely house, very attentive Inn keeper! We needed flexibility in dates, and we were accommodated beautifully. We were asked about any special requests for breakfast, and the Innkeeper offered to go get non-fat milk for my latte! Simply wonderful!
