Very comfortable stay at the Green House Bed and Breakfast last night in rural Kankakee County. Great hosts and friendly dog named Apollo ( the Wonder Dog!). Awesome breakfast and we even packed leftovers in our cooler to bring home. As we told the owner (Mark), we'll be back!

Having visited over 70 B&Bs around the US and world my standards are high. Greenhouse B&B is at the top of the list. It’s like nothing I’ve ever experienced anywhere on earth. I don’t even know where to begin. Here are my top 10.|1. The gardens. You will drive into an entirely different landscape than the monotony surrounding it. It is so colorful and imaginative, intentional and peaceful. The fire flies alone could take them off the grid. The breathtaking pond escape belongs in a magazine. But what I’m most appreciate is the Permaculture consciousness that Mark and Guia bring to their land. (Mark was a Peace Corps volunteer in Philippines, and just published a book and homesteading.)|2. Mark and Guia, you’ll never find better hosts. They will give you as much space as you need (which for me is zero). We laughed hard and had the most warm and friendly visit you could imagine. Guia is a top chef. Her food is better than any restaurant or B&B I’ve ever experienced. Hands-down. I wanted to take her with me, but Mark wouldn’t let me.|3. The food. 10 stars. The variety, the spices, the presentation, and the love and care that goes into it . But don’t kidnap Guia. She’s mine. Not only is it made with tremendous skill, but the ingredients come from their land! It’s a healthy, sustainable, local, delicious, abundant and more than you would ever dream in a meal.|4. Did I mention the food |5. The beds. I have major sleep issues and have never slept better. Maybe it was amazing meal and all the fire flies and the sweet, peaceful setting and warm company. But I think it’s the beds. I slept so hard. I think Mark And Guia had a hold of the walls because I was snoring so loud 🙂 my whole family attested to an amazing sleep |6. The food.|7. Super Duper clean. Sparkly. How do they maintain those gardens and prepare the food and clean the house as much? I have no idea. But they do. My white gloved clean, freak, husband gave them an A+, which he rarely does. |8. Accommodations they were able to outfit our entire family comfortably with multiple rooms. It was such a great place for everyone to get together. ||We all left with such deep gratitude and appreciation for Mark and Guia - their lifestyle and their hospitality. We literally insist that they become our friends. They have no choice in the matter. They will be your friends to and you too |will want to kidnap Guia. But don’t. She’s mine.

My stay at Greenhouse Bed and Breakfast was my first time having a true and traditional B&B experience. Mark and Guia welcome you into their warm, comfortable, and unique home like you are family. The rooms are quaint, clean, and cozy. ||||Our room had a note book where guests over the years have left notes that boast nothing but praise. ||||The property feels like an endless place to explore. I will forever remember watching the moon rise over the fields, waking up to breakfast in the morning, and the calm quiet of such a wonderful home.

Mark and Guia are gracious hosts who throw the best farm dinner parties!

I have stayed the night in the second floor bedroom with a guest and my dog. Guia was so sweet and made sure my dog was offered his own dog bed. The room is cute and has personal touches of some family photos that are charming.

I have also spent overnights at greenhouse camping, and it's really nice and quiet. It feels luxurious to camp within feet of a nice bathroom. The bonfires here are fun!

Two incredible highlights here: the beautiful garden with a pretty gazebo and guineas running around, and the really good breakfast! Guia often does Filipino style bread puddings or other sweets to go along with the spread. Excellent coffee and fresh food. 😋

Best B&B east of the Mississippi River. I can’t believe we stumbled upon this precious haven in rural Illinois. Greenhouse B&B exceeded every expectation. The landscaping is beautiful. The rooms are gorgeous and clean. The food is the best I’ve ever had. And the host mark and GUIA are tremendous. I can’t recommend greenhouse, B&B enough. What a brilliant surprise.

I’ve been going to Greenhouse Bed and Breakfast since 2006, when I needed a peaceful getaway from the city, but a place that wasn’t too far from Chicago. It was a chance selection but quickly this place became my go-to and my refuge when I needed it. What makes it a refuge are Mark and Guia’s hosting, Guia’s artful and healthy cooking, the quiet rural area where I am able to sit with my thoughts and deal with them in peace. I love the rows of asparagus, the rare heirloom fruit trees, and the guinea hens who occasionally torment the chickens. I feel like Mark and Guia are like my family now.

The Greenhouse is the best bed and breakfast I've ever seen Mark and Guia are lovely hosts great cooks and very friendly. This B&B is located in a beautiful rural area right down the street from an organic pasture raised lovestock farm and hosts lovely events as well as keeping cozy BUG FREE clean rooms. ALL of the negative reviews have been posted by a disgruntled competing bed and breakfast that have posted fake reviews from fake accounts. If you're considering staying here you really won't regret it Mark and Guia keep a lovely home and are very friendly you won't regret your stay.

Glad rags my band from Chicago has played here many times for the farm meal and every time we are blown away by the hospitality and food. This year we were lucky enough to start our East Coast tour with the show and camping outside the bed and breakfast. Waking up with the chickens and frogs was a delight. Then came the breakfast and delicious coffee ☕ the milk 🥛🍼 was so fresh. Thanks for everything and check out our best selling Album "All the Them" topping the charts.
