I dined in and enjoyed the atmosphere at Green Joes. I wish I was able to order food, but it seemed like they were already out of many items. The service was quick and friendly. I enjoyed how they supported local artists and the drive thru option was well supported by additional staff, so the wait time was not affected by it as a dine-in customer. The coffee- was bright and floral and citrusy. I drink it black so I didn’t mind that there wasn’t a coffee station, but this might be an issue for others. The bathrooms were single / everybody bathrooms and clean. Hallways were wide enough for wheelchair access. My only complaint was the doorway entrance has no corridor, so when there are people who do not know how to use doors in the Midwest during the winter, and you are a patron sitting at a table you might need to keep your jacket on because the wind will shake you to your core, but on the plus side, you’ll have a nice warm cup of coffee to keep you going…. Free WiFi and lovely atmosphere

This is my favorite local coffee shop! They support local artist, have organic coffee & teas, a healthful, and even a vegan menu. Their lavender latte/matcha & avocado toasts are the best!! & the large iced is double the size of a Starbucks Venti. What more could a girl ask for? Lol ☺️💕

I really do like this place and their coffee. Schaumburg/the area doesn’t really have good coffee options. I tried it last week and the iced latte was good! However I came back on a Tuesday at like 12:30 and no one was there. No one at the drive thru so I went to go inside and no one there doors locked. No posts on their social medias notifying them being closed when everywhere says they’re open. This makes me not want to come back after I went out of my way 20 minutes to come here because I liked the coffee and customer service in my previous visit.

I want to love this place. It’s one of the only local coffee shops in the area and I would prefer to support a small business than Starbucks or Duncan. They make it difficult…constantly out of ingredients to make drinks, and their lattes are extremely watery. I couldn’t even drink more than a couple sips of the last mocha I ordered. I continue to try every few months with an open mind but I am disappointed time and time again. The cups break, the coffee is awful, the food they get from a local bakery is the only positive feedback I have after the last few months.

The coffee was a bit watery and unflavored. The cups are really flimsy and you are a small squeeze away from your cup exploding. The food was good, not spectacular, and overpriced. It is nice to have an independent coffee shop so close to home, but that’s about it. The atmosphere wasn’t particularly cozy, but it is a clean place.

Green Joe has great espresso, and thats all I've ever gotten here. They always have an array of local artists' wares on display, which is very cool of them. I noticed, as have many others, that they slowly ran out of things and closed down over the last few weeks/months, which was, as a customer, weird to witness.
As for the negatives - this wasn't a coffee place you could go if you liked pastries with your coffee. All they stocked was a small selection of gluten free/vegan options, and the ones I tried were honestly the *worst*, inedible gluten free products I've encountered. The atmosphere was cold, I dont remember them ever playing music, and the only appreciable light was cool daylight from the huge windows. All hard surfaces - not a great spot to hang out if comfy cozy Cafe is your preferred vibe. The employees gave a similarly disconnected vibe - almost none of them were outwardly friendly, it was almost like ordering coffee from robots most of the time.
Regardless, GJC is/was the only independent coffee shop in a huge radius. Their pricing was great as was the espresso. I certainly hope they can reopen, at least for the sake of all the locals who lived closer than I did. If not, I guess Brewpoint and Conscious Cup are my only remaining options!
