It’s a so beautiful RV camp, very close to the Matanuska glacier. The camp host Nancy very friendly.
I like restaurant dumpling ,and also has chinese beef noodles I will try next time .I will come back ,so enjoy.

Absolutely amazing stop! The food was all handmade, delicious and hit the spot. While staying here we tried their house special fried wontons, handmade pizza, beer battered onion rings and their club with freshly prepared coleslaw. This Cafe has everything you would want all in one location.
If you're staying here overnight, they come fully equipped with showers, bathrooms, coin operated laundry and all the RV hookups. Free WiFi for guests. Picnic tables are at every RV spot with a truly grand view of Lion's Head and the rest of the Matanuska Glacier grandeur.
For those who want a quick and easy hike, they have you covered as well.
Grand View Cafe and RV truly is one of Alaska's hidden gems. We can't wait to come back!

Great being able to walk from RV to get dinner. Pizza was good, service was polite but she was obviously trying to run everything from the Cafe and RV park guests by herself. They could have used another person to assist with waitresses. There were only 3 tables including ours when we dined.

This is on us - so we'll shoulder part of the blame. We had booked this Park for three nights on our way North. Had an RV issue pop up but we were fortunate that we found an RV Service Center in Anchorage who could see us on a Monday. We checked into this Park on Sunday, advised the staff we had to leave early due to a mechanical issue and they were totally NOT sympathetic. Simply stated no refunds unless given two weeks notice. Seriously, two weeks notice for a cancellation? How can someone predict they are going to have an issue and not complete their reservation two weeks in advance?
Sites are FHU but they are TIGHT and basically in a parking lot. Our neighbors picnic table was so close we could barely open the doors on our tow (we have a small 18' TT with no slides). You have to pay for a shower - $3USD for 8 minutes: $3.50 for wash and $2.00 for dryer. They do have a restaurant but the prices are awful - 3x3 rice Krispy cake was $4 and a 3" cookie was almost $7. They advertised several trails - to a bluff, river, and glacier however, none of these are marked except at the beginning of the trail from the Park. Quite a few "y" but no trail signs, so good luck finding the glacier, river or the bluff. All in all it was disappointing, perhaps if we hadn't had the mechanical issue and had the owners been just a bit more sympathetic I would feel different but at this point suggest you keep going North or South.

This week we stopped for pizza which was delicious, generous toppings .. cheese oozing off the slices, all fresh, lots of topping options - their specialty pizzas are so full of toppings that we had no desire to ‘build our own pie’! The staff is friendly, fun with conversation and efficient. It is a small dining area but not crowded, a log building with an Alaskan vibe. They also serve Oriental dishes that look amazing. Every time we visit Glacier View this cafe will be our pizza stop!

I have been stopping in to Grand View for twenty years. There was a recent change in ownership, and I will say it is just as great as before. The new owners carried over much of what the previous owners did, including the same coffee; the regular pot coffee is still great. They now have an extended menu to include more Asian food, and the beef noodle soup is also very good. There was plenty of meat and noodles for a robust meal. Service was very friendly.

I am happy to say, I will be continuing to stop at my favorite haunt between Anchorage and Valdez. 🙂

No joke, this was the best meal we had over two weeks in Alaska. The Nancy dumplings were great but the braised pork was absolutely phenomenal. Everything we ate was fabulous and the staff were super friendly. I can’t say enough nice things about the place!
