Former Mid-century Modern Playboy Club! 1 1/2 miles off the highway on its own private road. Very cool architecture. Went here for the first time for a business trip/ sales meeting. For vacation May, June, September, October would be nicer weather and scenery. Comfortable room EXCEPT Resort Management forgot to plan with the Building Engineering Department to turn up the boiler for plenty of hot water. Forced to endure an ice-cold morning shower my first full day. I complained along with 100 of my colleagues and the next morning there was plenty of hot water. So great reaction and poor initial planning. Service at both the Front Desk, Room Service, and in the restaurants were great. This complex is a bit of a confusing maze and takes time to know your way around. I was lost at one point and an employee actually walked me to my destination which today rates as STELLAR service! Wish I could leave 5-Stars however my fingers are still numb from that ice-cold morning shower!đŸ„¶đŸ„¶đŸ„¶

The place is very average and not suited for busy times. I took my family over the long weekend, and for what’s advertised, it falls short of expectations—it’s just okay.

The beds slide off the frames easily, and the rooms aren’t well-insulated for cold temperatures. Small issues added up over the weekend, including problems with towels, soap, and service. We couldn’t get a single reservation at any of the restaurants—not for breakfast or dinner.

At the spa, they were short-staffed, and the massage table I used was tilted (the employee mentioned new ones were ordered, but that didn’t help with my massage that day). They also automatically add a 20% fee to the bill, which felt a bit forward, especially since the massage wasn’t quite 50 minutes—yet you’re charged for what most places would consider a full hour at a good spa.

The club is nice, though it feels like it gets the leftovers from the restaurants. The landscape is beautiful, and perhaps it’s a better experience in the summer. Employees kept mentioning it was their busiest time, which might explain some of the shortcomings. Honestly, I feel bad for the staff—they spent so much time making excuses for what seemed like logistical issues beyond their control and management should address.

I wouldn’t mind the cost if the experience justified it, but the place has a lot of opportunities for improvement.

I enjoyed my stay there. The rooms are big, room service is great. Everyone is so polite. I had breakfasts at one of the restaurants and I liked the service. It was fast and the waiter stayed available for questions. I hated the Spa. The staff is rude, the therapist didn’t seem to enjoy her job. After my first massage, I cancelled my other appointments.

Rooms have a rustic boating motif which is great being near marina and lake. Bathroom was well designed and cleaner than most hotels. Bed comfortable, but not comparable to say a doubletree or Hilton experience. Restaurants inside have good food. Did not try spa or pools. Parking is limited and can be hard to reach certain rooms in central buildings. Staff friendly. Cleaning staff might want to pay a little more attention to detail as they forgot to replace washcloths after taking, ironing board was not working and had to notify front desk, and coffee maker had stale coffee bags in it. Lots of events available. Movies, breakfast, and wifi were all additional costs.

What was supposed to be a one night sledding/skiing getaway with my husband and two children has turned into an ongoing nightmare. Apparently the resort allowed someone to charge a $300 bar tab to my room. I’m on week three of trying to get the money taken off my credit card. I’ve called six times only to be thrown into voicemails of employees that never return calls. No apologies from any staff members for not only stressing me out, but also forcing me to repeatedly call to try to get the tab investigated. Nope, just pushed off to someone else who will do absolutely nothing about it except make excuses. Even today I was promised a call back after I noticed more charges on my card from the resort and nothing. My credit card company is even involved and they have also ready called twice to rectify the situation. This resort is a mess not to mention outdated and funky smelling rooms. Why type of “resort” just allows a large party to charge their bar tab to anybody’s room? Well I guess it’s the type of resort that doesn’t even call back when they’ve made a huge mistake. I guess I’ll be at it again tomorrow to try to get this ridiculous charge off my card.

5 STARS.....I love staying at the Grand Geneva for business and pleasure. This last trip was especially delightful made possible by two specific staff members. I had a crisis on my way down to the resort and upon check in MASON at the front desk assisted me with ease and care. He's so professional and solution orientated. Likewise, SYDNEY who works in the Grand Cafe is the EPITOME of professionalism and service. She had no idea I was having a troublesome morning and her warmth and care turned it around. Grand Geneva is very well staffed and a beautiful place to stay. Again 5 STARS and cheers to MASON and SYDNEY

I was here for a convention but did not stay at the resort. The convention was great, and the staff of the resort were friendly and considerate. The facilities are well maintained, and the conference spaces were more than adequate!

For the same conference next year, I hope I can stay here!

Dawn was able to help us with a small hiccup when staying for a quick weekend trip. Her and Matt together made our stay extra. Kids loved it and the water park was a fun full day with lots of excitement for the little ones.
