Fabulous campground. Set high up in the canyon with breathtaking views down to Monument Valley. Friendly staff and laid back atmosphere. It was like being in a state park - large sites with campfire rings and picnic tables and red rock walls all around. And the STARS! So peaceful.

We took a sunrise tour of the valley with Goulding’s and it was great. Our guide, Bennett, was so knowledgeable and generous in sharing his knowledge of the local area and Navajo culture. Highly recommend!

I’m shocked reading other reviews complaining about the water pressure in the campground and uneven sites etc. This place is REMOTE! If you pay attention, you will notice the local community here haul water to their houses on their trucks from a local well. Having water plumbed into your RV is a privilege! Appreciate it and where you are!!

Wished we could have stayed longer. This is a special place.

This is a fine park overall, do stay there. It's older; our 45' Class A fit fine but was on a slope such that the step was steep due to slope. Room for the jeep. Some grading and more railroad ties as ground stabilizing would help. Needless to say a beautiful area where you have the huge rocks and area landscapes as your front yard. Wish the dog park was inside not across the street. Very nice staff. nice store. Easy access to the park. Would stay there again for sure if in the area.

I stayed at the RV campground. Very nice. Not the views as the hotel, but I still enjoyed my stay. I took the sunrise tour of the monuments and it was well worth it. I thoroughly enjoyed myself and took some great pictures. We went way back into the canyons and saw plenty. Even though it was not sunset. Highly recommend

Site #39. Pull-through, long enough for our 36' gas Class A, but had to park the toad sideways in front of the coach. Approach into the site required us to remove the drop hitch to keep from scraping it. FHU 50/30/20, Water, Sewer, Cable TV. Gravel pad, level enough to level with no extra pads, picnic table, fire ring. Angled parallel, fairly close, but enough room for slides and awning. Campground is pretty much all gravel, with some trees, but no grass. Sewer had tiny roaches in it, so I only hooked up to dump. It had a 4” threaded BUT because of how the collar was mounted, I couldn't actually screw the elbow in, which made the connection awkward. There was a tree at the front of the site whose branches were lower than the coach, so I had to back out. The lanes were narrow, but marginally navigable. Campground laundry has five washers, only three of which were working, and seven dryers. Washers were $3.00 a load, and dryers were either $0.25 or $0.50 for ten minutes depending on dryer brand / size. Fairly onerous checkout policy - $10 per hour if you leave after 11:00, and after two hours, you get charged a full night's fee.
Cable TV very snowy.
WiFi (Verizon and T-Mobile) spotty at best, AT&T data slow, but available
Big rig manageable, but I wouldn't necessarily say friendly, due to the trees that need to be trimmed and the relatively narrow lanes and tight turns in the campground itself.
If we were to visit the area again, we would probably try the KOA on US-163 instead.

Stayed at the campground while in Monument Valley about a month ago and been meaning to post a review.

Location is great to get to the sites in Monument Valley but our specific campsite was a joke, and support form the the staff was almost as comical ..

From Day 1 we had no water pressure ( as did the neighbors on both sides of us and across the street ) we all went into the office daily to have it addressed but was told they would have someone address it .. they did send people out .. they ran the water and left .. supposedly there was “air in the lines” but refused to let us move to another site .. after 3 nights we left with no resolution.

Plus watch your trash .. there was a pack of dogs that scattered trash all over our site and was never picked up either ..

Nice location … POOR customer service and POOR facilities .. i would look elsewhere

Can't speak for the Lodge, this is a review of the campground. Extremely over priced. Sites a super small. My neighbor had to pull his awning in so I could open my slide. Internet is non-existent. The scenery is beautiful but bring your wallet. They got all the money they will get from me, def won't be back.

There are two choices to camp near monument valley. Goulding and a KOA journey. I am not a fan of KOAs (but will stay there if I have no other choice). Goulding camp was clean, but sites are close together. Closest I think I have ever seen. Sites are not large either, but we managed to get our 40' fifth wheel in and out ok. The location between the slick rock is pretty cool. It's very close to Monument Valley. I think some other people's reviews are a little unfair, perhaps they expected too much from the get go. We saw 1 loose dog during our 3 day visit. Power, water and sewer were all good.
