The rooms have no soundproofing at all—you can hear everything from the adjoining rooms around you. Staying near the elevator is even worse, as the noise is so loud it feels like the elevator is in your room, with sounds every 5 minutes. Even the piano playing in the first-floor lobby can be heard clearly from the third floor. The soundproofing is terrible, but aside from that, everything else was great.

Room was filthy. When you first walk in the room appears dark and dingy. They painted the walls a dark blue in the sitting room area of the rooms, where there is one light and no windows.

We got past the dark and dingy and went out to explore Anchorage. When we returned we were exhausted and showered. Discovered bathroom floor had dirt and dust on it, especially along the walls and in the corners. Front room table had food smeared on it. Desk had water mark ring on it. We sanitized the surfaces and checked the beds.

When we were about to go to bed I noticed used tissues laying beside the sink, on the floor between the vanity and the wall. Called front desk and the girl was very nice and offered to switch us to a new room. We chose to stay since we had little hope that the next room would be any cleaner and we just cleaned it ourselves. She did offer to comp us breakfast the next morning. Which was a good thing because $16.99 for continental breakfast, that most other hotels provide for free, with flimsy plastic utensils, is absurd. At least provide real silverware if you're going to try to pass it off as a restaurant breakfast. You clean up after yourself too. UMMM, WHAT? $350 a night hotel where I have to clean my own room and then I have to pay additional money for breakfast, serve myself and clear my own dishes too?

I expected MUCH better from a Marriott property, especially for $350 a night!

Good location in the heart of anchorage. We had someone literally open our room 2x with a key while we were sleeping. (All before 9am) 1 we know was staff trying to clean at 8am. The other im unsure of. Little scary. They thought we'd checked out? When we were here another 2 nights. Hince the 1 star service and the front desk people are less than enthused.

Room is nice and clean. It has a separate living area, fridge, nice bed, and big shower. The incidental feel of $300+ AFTER the room charge is a little ridiculous.

The hubs went to the offered all you can eat breakfast that was $17.00. Said it was like a continental breakfast you pay for. There is a bar in the evening in that same area. The server there was so incredibly nice. There is a microwave in the "pantry" space that is extremely convenient.

This is not a typical $350 per night hotel, outdated, old, missing light fixture covers, things that don’t work, and they charge $16.99 for a continental breakfast. For the price breakfast should be included, and the rooms should be amazing. It’s a couple blocks away from a park where a lot of homeless people hang out and yell and night, so that doesn’t help. The bars around the parking lot are very unwelcoming. Not a nice place. The staff is friendly but that’s about it.

Definitely expected more from a Marriott hotel
As soon as we walked in the room, it was super humid. They should’ve had the AC on already. There are two separate sections to the room. The front part where the couch is does not have ac

As other reviews mentioned, there was a dirty towel still hanging in the bathroom

But the worst part was finding a whole bunch of toenail clippings right next to the bed. When I mentioned something to The front desk employee, they didn’t seem too concerned at all. Judging from other reviews, it seems pretty common. This is definitely the definition of a three star hotel borderline two

As echoed throughout the reviews, the rooms and hotel is very outdated and not very clean. The gym was a highlight because it was very nice. The location is also pretty good which was nice. The staff was great which is surprising with how bad the hotel itself is.

The worst accommodation experience we have ever experienced.

There are no pros, only cons.

1. No housekeeping service.
2. Rooms are not clean.
3. Dirty towels are left hanging in new rooms we check-in into.
4. Dirty towels are left outside the room for over 16+ hours.
5. Ordered things from guest service and nothing was delivered after asking for the same thing four times.
6. Asked for a hairdryer on the first night, and it never came so I was unable to wash my hair.
7. Phone in the room doesn't work. So to get serviced, you have to physically walk to the reception every single time.
8. No kettle provided in rooms. Guests are forced to walk to the gymnasium every single time to get water.
9. All the staff are short tenure exchange students who don't know anything.
10. The hot water and cold water signage in the toilet is incorrect. Instead of gradually changing cold to hot water, the water is extremely hot first before it can be adjusted. The signage is wrong so hot water is blue and cold water is red.

Hopeless accomodation.

Overall, a nice experience. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. However, $400/night seems a bit steep for the quality of the rooms, especially with no free breakfast. Our room had some small issues as well, which I wouldn't expect at that price point, and some of the side/exterior doors didn't take our key cards. All this said, I would stay here again.
