I was so excited to visit this fort that my 5X great grandfather built. It gives you a chilling feeling to think of standing in the same spot of an ancestor from over 200 hundred years ago.

Cool stop just off the main highway. I've been there twice and had the place to myself both times. Beautiful dogtrot cabin with many outbuildings to explore. Lots of flowers blooming in the spring which make it extra special.

Went to a civil war reenactment with my finance and they had crafts for sale and a small antique car show. Other than being attacked by the world's largest grasshopper the time spent at this event was very pleasant and enjoyable!!!! Even without an event being held the grounds in and of themselves are beautiful and it is an enjoyable way to walk back in time and see something not experienced by many!
