Saw a Film Noir here last Friday night. Film was excellent! The theater is old fashioned and quite lovely. The lounge is awesome with a well appointed bar where the barkeep knows how to make a solid martini. The lounge is decorated in black and white with photos of musicians. Classy.

This place would honestly get 5 stars because the ambiance. But there is a particular bartender there named Diane that I have constantly heard gossip about guests and coworkers. I avoid her at all costs because her drinks are not consistent and honestly she's rude and not pleasant. All the other ladies that I have seen work the bar are gems. I'm not sure how this one squeezed her way in.

The place is in great shape considering it is over 100 years old. It has excellent acoustics and live music does not need amplification. Just enjoyed an evening of Beethoven music.

I just love the Empress lounge Wednesday nights! Every time I go to the Wednesday night show I thoroughly enjoy it. Everyone I bring to the shows thinks they are great also. I like the lounge shows because I wear hearing aids and the music is easier to listen to because it’s not so loud. You can also get pretty great seating right up front if you like. One time they had a taco bar but another time when they didn’t they allowed us to bring our own food in and we went down to Gracie‘s to get some food to bring in. I’m sure I’ll keep going and bringing my friends. I hope the lineup quality continues.
