We were told to try El Barrio and I'm glad we did. All of our food was fresh, hot, and tasted great. The service was awesome, and I have only positive things to say about our experience. This is my new go-to place for Mexican food, and I will definitely be a returning customer.

We came here on Tuesday night , the food was good , but the guy who was in the counter , the cashier guy was very rude , he was asked us if we want to go or dine in, but he was act and talked super rude to us , idk what happened . But it was pretty disappointing .

Sometimes, the food is too fatty or dry, but then you get times that it is sooo good. The service has always been great and restaurant clean.

I usually don’t have any complaints coming here. My husband and I love the food- it’s some of the best near us without having to go to Joliet or the city. But I gotta say I was not thrilled to get my order today. To be fair I’m willing to bet it was the Uber eats drivers fault, but there was other issues with our order.
Most of the beans ended up either outside of the container or on our tacos. We didn’t get any of the red or green sauce for the tacos, no plastic silverware and no napkins. And we were missing the salsa with our chips and salsa- which was a bummer.

First time this happened and like I said I’m willing to hedge bets it was the Uber eats driver trying to make too many trips in a hurry that caused the spilliage. Food arrived super fast without paying for it but I would have preferred he’d taken his time on this one.

Was the food edible, even delicious? Always.
Did it look pretty? Not by a long shot.
Did I eat it anyway? Absolutely.
Will I be ordering via a third party delivery service again? NO.
Lesson learned- if you don’t want food that was spilled all over itself and missing salsas and utensils, it’s worth not being lazy like I was tonight and just pick up food for yourself.

I ordered through Uber eats because my car was being borrowed. The food came quickly. My burrito was not delicious but not terrible. I ordered guacamole and chips as well as chips and salsa. The salsa was not in the bag. I called, the girl was nice enough but told me if I want I can co w pick it up- of course I can, I paid for it! When I did go get it, they gave me the little cup of salsa. I was so mad. How much does salsa cost that you couldn’t upsize it for the inconvenience! I told the ladies that and left with no intention of ordering there again. The food needs to be so good that things like that can be overlooked and it’s not. So many other reviews are similar. I should have read the first.

I came with my fam for my future wife’s doctoral graduation celebration dinner. The food was decent. More portions would’ve made it a 10 but I understand cutting costs. Keep it up

It’s a hole in the wall but don’t let that fool you. I travel all over the USA and eat Mexican food a couple times a week. The salsa is excellent. I had fajitas and they were the best in memory. Quality ingredients, seasoned and cooked to perfection.

Just terrible to start out 2025.

Called over the phone to order, 15 min later I arrived and they never even took my order. Not even an apology or reason given by cashier girls.
Ordered the steak torta (carne asada) and it was just awful. It smelled of old and sour meat and definitely had a funky taste to it. After waiting so long and driving out and back home, I felt I might as well eat and give it benefit of the doubt. HUGE mistake. 40 minutes after eating I got severe cramps and diarrhea. Just a horrible experience!
