Food was out quickly! It was delicious. I ordered sausage and egg sandwich on croissant and my girlfriend got a half order of biscuits and gravy. The coffee was hot but breeed conservatively not my tastes but probably the best average brew strength for a small town restaurant

My husband and I had some business in Bethalto near lunch time. There were lots of food choices. We decided on Eagles Nest restaurant. It is a cafe atmosphere with very friendly employees. Everyone is greeted with a smile. The employees were dressed for Halloween and very upbeat. My husband chose the Hungry Man breakfast and I chose the bacon cheeseburger and fries. Initially I thought, oh I am not sure that breakfast with only 2 pancakes would fill my husband up. Little did I know the pancakes were 8 inches or more. Yikes. Yes, he got through the two eggs, sausage and bacon, but he struggled and could not finish the pancakes! My burger was huge and I barely managed to clean my plate. The meals were great. The prices were fair. The employees were fun. There is plenty of parking. We would definitely go again when in the area.

I’ve been here countless times, and it was always really good and clean.
However, we went this time and it was absolutely dirty and disgusting. The plates our food was served on were all visibly dirty, and even the coffee cups on the table were too. The plates had hard, dried, crusty food and liquid all along the edges. The waffle had burnt bits infused in it from a dirty waffle maker and the bottom was soggy. The hash browns were bland, gross, and came with a black pubiclike hair on the plate. The syrup container barely opened due to the stickiness of old syrup inside the pour spout.
This place is not short of employees, so there’s absolutely no excuse. I felt like I wanted to puke and didn’t even eat my food but still had to pay for it. Just absolutely lost my appetite and didn’t feel safe eating here. Way to turn a rare family breakfast into a horrible experience. What a shame, because I had never had this neglect here before. Something changed and not for the better. Ugh.

Does not accept bariatric patients portion plan. You cannot order off of the kid menu to allow smaller portion sizes because “it costs them money to make the same portion of food (1/2 lb burger) ” . This is bad service and unprofessional on their part for serving the same size portion for adults and kids.

Food was ok. The service is received today was unacceptable. Our waitress was extremely rude. We ordered drinks that we never received. We reordered our drinks when our food arrived. Sill were ignored by our waitress. We were not able to take our leftovers home because our waitress never came back. The busses ended up coming and asking to take our plates. We were handed a check after we got up and started walking towards the register.
I would expect this from a younger waitress not someone my own age!
