We were greeted immediately and given menus. Right away we were asked if we wanted coffee or something else to drink. The Cafe de Olla was good but the galletas given to us to accompany our coffee were beyond stale. Another thing we noticed after drinking my coffee was that the mug had a ROSS price tag under it. I don't care were it comes from but the fact that the tag sticker was intact leads me to believe the mug wasn't even washed. Other than that, the food was good. Nothing special about the food but a nice small place to have breakfast.

Dolce Cafe has potential but needs improvements.

As you walk in, you get coffee shop vibes. It’s small but has a cute atmosphere. You sit yourself. There was one waitress for all of the six tables. The waitress took around 5 minutes to acknowledge us and give us our menus.

I ordered the jefe de jefes plate, which included a side of chilaquiles, an omelet, beans, and potatoes. For my chilaquiles, I ordered green salsa, and for my omelet, I ordered the “El Perron,” which has turkey breast, roasted peppers, mushrooms, and jack cheese topped with a chipotle creamy sauce. To drink, I ordered a hot mazapán latte.

Although Dolce cafe gives a cute atmosphere, the food, in my opinion, needs a little something. My food arrived a little cold. The green sauce was too sour; it needed that perfect balance between spicy and sourness. It was missing that spicy kick. The sauce was too watery, and the tortilla chip was too soggy. The tortilla chip did not absorb the sauce well. My side of beans was a little bland. It needed a pinch of salt. I did notice the beans had a hint of spearmint flavor, which I found interesting. The potatoes had a strong garlic flavor but yet lacked flavor. The omelet was okay, but the chipotle sauce was below average. It needed more chipotle flavor; the cream overpowered the chipotle.

I want to begin by saying that I like my coffee to have a nice caffeine flavor and a hint of sweetness if I get a latte. However, the mazapan latte lacked caffeine flavor. It tasted bland—it almost felt like I was drinking warm milk with tiny pieces of peanuts. I didn’t taste the mazapán at all, so I decided to ask for more flavor. So, at least I felt like I was drinking warm milk with mazapán —it didn’t taste like I expected, so I ended up not drinking it.

I hope you find this review as a form of constructive criticism. I'm all about evolving; this place has potential but needs something.

I normally don’t give low scores . However when money spent isn’t felt to be given the value for what it costs I need to be honest . The beans felt like caned or not homemade. The birria had too much fat excess on it that I had to scrape the fat off before I can eat it. By the time I scraped fat I was left with in my opinion not much just pure meat . I didn’t like that .
I originally ordered a hibiscus drink . Now I’m going to try to explain the taste about the drink that I didn’t like and why . If you have ever bought powder flavor “artificial hibiscus “ then you’ll know the steps in order to make it is adding sugar to the powder with water . This is not the way I like it . I DONT like the Artificial flavor of hibiscus. I can give you example when you buy whole leaf real flower of hibiscus it is bitter tasting with a hint of floral taste. If you want to add sweetness then adding honey pure honey or even adding a homemade lemonade will help. Either way I’m trying to explain this because if I’m going to pay for a drink or food I expect food and drinks to not be made from a can or powder artificially. I know not everyone cares or has a taste bud to know the difference. I can tell the difference because I choose to eat things predominantly the pure natural way . Hope my explanation means well for you to understand why I gave it this rating .

Also you’ll need to find street parking or park at the Costco parking lot across the street .

Out again with my mother for brunch on this beautiful sunny day in san diego, the cajeta latte and iced coffee called my name. Place is cute and comfy with great customer service and the server was attentive and accommodated us very well. The hot cajeta latte was delicious accompanied by a small biscuit nice and creamy with a well balanced flavor. The chavo del 8 torta was also a big hit french fries nicely seasoned and crispy. We finished it off with a cajeta banana and strawberry crepe which was also delicious not too sweet and not too overpowering which was great as a dessert I will most definitely be coming back to try more from their menu.

My wife and I visited Dolche Cafe located in the heart of Chula Vista on Broadway next door to Costco. We were greeted by the nice owner of this business and ordered a variety of food from their menu on the two consecutive days that we were in the area. We can say that this business has the 3 elements that in our opinion make a good restaurant. Food quality and taste, service and price. The Food quality was excellent and fresh, from the café de olla we ordered, to the enchiladas, pechugas con mole, salad with carne asada, cucumber water, crepes con Nutella and cinnamon apple crepes. We liked it so much that after our first visit we had to return for a repeat the next day. Service was very good. We appreciate our server's attention and talking to the owner who checked up on us during our stay. Prices were fair considering the high cost of raw materials and rent these days. We wish this local restaurant the best in their grand opening. We will be back to try other items in their menu. Highly recommended.

Nestled in the rear of a liquor store lies a wonderful Mexican restaurant. The restaurant is small but very busy. The food is excellent, and the atmosphere is fun and vibrant. Just be sure you don't park in the 3 parking areas of the liquor store. They will immediately tow you.

The staff and owners were exceptionally friendly, creating a welcoming atmosphere where I could comfortably work on my laptop. However, some dishes featured spices or ingredients that weren't to my liking. It's worth a try though, as personal tastes vary. For instance, I had never tried potatoes with rosemary before and found the rosemary's flavor overpoweringly strong, suggesting a need for more cautious seasoning. Additionally, I was somewhat displeased when my service was cleared before I had finished. On a positive note, they kindly offered more cookies, allowing me to leisurely finish my coffee. The ambiance was notable, with an incense-filled air and vividly colored metal chairs. I consider this place expensive.
