Working with Distinct Locations is always a true pleasure. They are organized, efficient and have a vast array of amazing off the beaten path properties. My event planning & catering company recently worked with them at a venue called French Oak Ranch. The attention to detail and impeccable venue management made this wedding weekend even that much more memorable for myself, my clients and their guests alike. They go above and beyond to ensure that everything is perfect.

Where do I start? Our day was just how we imagined it would be, and more! We just wanted to say a huge thank you to all of you for making our wedding day such a Fantastic day. From our initial meeting, Mariusz and I knew that we want to work with you. You guys made the planning process so enjoyable and we truly felt that you guys wanted to support and help us to bring our wedding vision to life.

All our guests were blown away at how beautiful our wedding was – the location is spectacular and there are so many stunning spots for photographs after the ceremony.

Jennifer and Alli really surpassed & exceeded any expectations we may have had, it really couldn’t have gone any better, thank you all so very much from the bottom of our hearts. Also for all the help, you gave us along the way in making it a perfect day for all of our loved ones. I Truly can not recommend Distinct Locations enough!

Distinct Locations is amazing! We had our wedding at Beaumont Farms and it was absolutely beautiful. All of our guests loved the venue and found it so unique! It had a beautiful backdrop of California rolling hills and olive trees. And it had a dinner barn as well as a separate party barn for dancing! We couldn't imagine having had our wedding anywhere else.

Truly if I could, I would give negative points to this company, I would.

My wedding was scheduled over a year in advance of July 2023 at a venue which DL had “acquired” into their portfolio around the same time. Despite the lead time, multiple attempts to communicate and myself as the bride taking the lead on trying to make sure there was no information falling through the cracks in this transition, I was met with hostility and unprofessionalism on part of the company, specifically the owner, Jen Pike. I was repeatedly told to “ calm down” and assured that things would be taken care of as DL would take charge as the new event management for the venue to assure this event doesn’t suffer in the process - when in reality it was persistently perceived as collateral damage in this business transaction.

Wedding planning itself is a stressful process, and despite being given no forewarning or even communication once DL had taken over - I maintained patience and led communication because ultimately as the bride and groom my partner/family had the most to lose in the process and I didn’t want to harbor any poor feelings towards someone who was new to the equation.

Unfortunately, things went from bad to worse. Id have to wait weeks to hear back from Jen, call and text her multiple times to even get her to acknowledge my message - again not saying people can’t be busy or that I don’t respect that in a business like this you have multiple events to plan simultaneously- but isn’t this exactly what any event management team is supposed to excel at and support you with?

When signing the contract one year out I was told by the venue a same day coordinator would need to be hired by me to manage vendors. In the weeks leading up to the event, my event planners biggest headache was dealing with DL. We were constantly being told what was originally committed to, we’re no longer available/possible without additional charge. Ironically we had to pull up the contract multiple times to show DL we had this commitment in writing. There was no communication between team members - let alone we as the client. Most significantly, the tone of the wedding planner was condescending at best and racist/judgemental at worst. Hands down the most stressful part of planning a wedding was dealing with DL/Jen in the lead up.

In interest of transparency, we were informed the day before our wedding that DL was no longer servicing this property - and we were provided a different set of professionals from both the venue and DL to work with who were absolutely wonderful. The same cannot be said about the owner. I have rarely even given justified feedback let alone criticism to a business or professional because I understand accidents/mistakes happen, my only purpose in sharing this review is to make sure other brides don’t have to deal with this nightmare during the already most stressful time of their lives.

Distinct Locations portfolio of properties are absolutely stunning. We toured several properties before we finally found the one that was perfect for our wedding day. They truly made it possible for our Napa Valley dream wedding to come to life!
