I had the misfortune of an extended stay at this motel. I can confirm reviews that use words like creepy and moldy. Moreover, the innkeeper discriminates and arbitrarily makes rules depending on your appearance. The innkeeper has a passageway behind all the rooms and I always felt uneasy. You can hear him creeping around at all hours and he goes into your room during the day. He was previously sued for walking in on a young woman. He refuses lodging to couples with children because they make a mess, he claims. He charged me a key "deposit" every week I was there and flipped out when I mentioned it. There is no doubt he and his wife are keeping money from the owner. My friend was paying $660 per month but I was charged $400 more. There is mold in the room that is painted over but will reappear if you stay more than a few days. There are cigarette burns and odd stains on the carpet and bed linen. Tiny ants infested the room. The place is terribly noisy. I saw him visually inspect sheets and reuse them without washing. They might look clean but there is bacteria, sweat, and other excretions still there.

I think the rooms are very clean. They have older furnishings but not a big deal to me. I did not see any bugs as someone else had posted. Very friendly owners also.

Old dumpy motel. If you absolutely need a place to stay, rooms are cheap, but don't expect much more than a roof over your head, a suspect bed to sleep in, and a toilet. You get what you pay for...

Horrible place to stay. Hundreds of ants infest the room and when you aren't there the owner goes in your room and claims it's his right since he owns the place. Payed for the room and went out, came back and there was a lock on the door knob and he wouldn't let me and my husband in. Had to call police to get them to come open the door. He tried stealing my wallet which had all of my money, my ID and my ssc in it. The owner refuses to turn on the heat and the rooms don't have AC in the summer. Rooms have a a standard box TV but no cable box or channels. No microwaves or refrigerators. Oh and in room 18 is a crack head lady always calling the cops for "domestic violence" and she will lurk outside your room trying to peek in through your window. If I could I would have rated 0 stars. If you value your sanity don't stay here.

Had to give at least one star to leave a review , don't think it even deserves that. Sketchy atmosphere , horrible dirty rooms , didnt even have towels in room. Tried to leave and they blatantly lied about reservation process etc. Would not recommend this motel to anyone. Well , I have an "ex" so I guess I may recommend it to one person.

Everything was out dated and not operable. No heat and the room smelled horrible like some just smoked cigars and cigarettes for a week. The owners were a nice couple.

Very comfortable place with reasonable prices. Receptionist was very kind and helpful. Room was kept very clean and sanitized properly.

Very close to downtown dekalb, gas stations and grocery stores. Will book again again and again.

I’m literally shaking my head at whomever replied to my experience at Dekalb Inn.
My husband and I visited your motel. It was hot outside and the “fan” on the wall which was suppose to be an air conditioner hardly worked and the television was an old box tv that showed 3 channels. The bathroom was dirty along with the carpet.. so yes, I (we) were there!
