We were celebrating my husband’s birthday on a Sunday morning. The staff members were attentive and helpful as always. Food was fresh and delicious. Everyone in our group loved the prime rib. We will eat there again soon!

Karson, Cam, Julia, and the history major Shelby who we’re very entertaining. we had the most amazing meal. You must go here for dinner and just to experience the history of Galena hands-down the best place and will definitely be back highly recommend it. I can’t say enough also you have to have the blue cheese soup.

We were staying in the Desoto and took the excellent dinning options in the Hotel to our advantage. From breakfast, to lunch, to supper. The food and service were fantastic. If we attend the Romantic Galena Reads event in 2025, I know we will have at least one meal here.

Got the walleye. It's Canadian eh. Started with French onion. Didn't see the lady in black but I kept glancing thru the door hoping to catch her out. Historic hotel. Stephen Douglas, Abraham Lincoln and US Grant have all stayed there.

We stayed at DeSoto House and got breakfast from Courtyard twice. The Apple Compote French Toast was so good! I wish I got it the second day too. The lemon blueberry crepes were good but now I'm craving the apple French toast again. It didn't need syrup. The heavy whipped cream was a perfect compliment for it. My husband loved it too!

We also ate at the Generals Restaurant and the pasta dishes were very good. Their bread/herb butter was amazing. Sarah, the server, was phenomenal. Very friendly and personable.

The steak was cooked to perfection and the brussel sprouts were the best prepared ones I could’ve ever imagined. I dare to say they are underpriced for the quality of food and service. Also, the general’s manhattan was top notch.

The food was terrible. The service was lacking... We sat for about 15 minutes before we got our waters, and another 15 before we had our order taken. But I didn't mind, I know they were busy. The worst part of the experience, was the food ! I kept putting salt on my Mac and cheese with pulled pork, but it didn't make a difference. The pulled pork for $8 extra was bland and tasteless, and it even had a funny taste Reminded me of meat from a can...the garlic bread had cooked so long...the garlic pieces on top were charred and completely black... The cordon Bleu was dry, and I mean, dry dry...the veggies that came with it looked like they could give someone food poisoning..they didn't even get eaten.. The reviews saying the food is good, disregard them, and don't let it lead you astray...De Soto restaurant said the Courtyard had no wait, and served the same menu...how misleading, and what a shame. I have eaten plenty of times at the De Soto, and have never been disappointed. I wanted to walk out of this place refusing to pay for my food. $70 wasted, and sick to my stomach two hours after.

Be sure to book your stay during their Sunday Breakfast buffet! My favorite will always be their hashbrown casserole and a nice slab of medium rare brisket😋 pair that with an orange mimosa and that's heaven right there 🫶
