I stayed here for a work trip. A colleague and I were trying to check-in around 8p. We were the only ones trying to checkin and it still took 30ish minutes. The lady at the desk just didn't seem to know what she was doing. The room was fine, a standard courtyard room. The next morning I went to work out and the fitness was out of order. I get that things happen but it would have been nice to be told about this at checkin. I contacted Marriott and the AGM from the property got back to me. She said they would refund the points I used for the stay. That was nearly a month ago and they still haven't been refunded. She said they changed management and sent me a screen shot of a pending request for my points but they still haven't been refunded. It's making me question wether I want to stay at a Courtyard property in the future.

I recently stayed at the St. Charles Courtyard Marriott, and I had an amazing experience, all thanks to the incredible customer service. I want to give a special shout-out to Breanna at the front desk. From the moment I arrived, she made me feel so welcomed and went above and beyond to ensure my stay was comfortable. Her helpfulness and positive attitude truly made my day better, and it's rare to come across someone so genuinely attentive and kind.

The front desk lady was very very nice. The one that greeted me and she had such a great spirit and was very happy. When there were problems with my room, she changed my room. The other front desk lady was very nice to as well, when I supposed to have breakfast with my stay, she added it to my my stay without a problem. The Mexican lady she had a little attitude, but eventually changed a bit, but overall, I could truly say the breakfast was amazing and our stay was wonderful. The guest was very nice and the lady at night by the bar she was nice as well..

Disappointing Stay Despite a Great Lobby & Friendly Staff

I recently stayed at this Marriott and was initially impressed by the clean, welcoming lobby and the friendly front desk staff. Check-in was smooth, and the staff was polite and professional.

However, my experience went downhill from there. One of the main reasons we booked this hotel was for the pool, yet upon arrival, we found out it was closed. Marriott should have disclosed this at the time of booking. Additionally, my room smelled strongly of stale cigarettes, which was disappointing for a non-smoking hotel.

When I brought up these concerns, no discount or accommodation was offered, which felt like a lack of customer care. While the staff was pleasant, I expected better communication and service recovery from Marriott. Unfortunately, I wouldn’t choose this location again.

Nice lobby area but service was extremely slow. We waited at least 10 minutes for anyone to show up at the front desk to check us in. When she did come back, she said she was getting supplies. (One person had stopped down to purchase a Pepsi and snacks and ended up leaving because of nobody around after maybe 5 minutes) There ended up being 3 of us waiting on her to check in. Room was clean and comfortable, but the 1st impression was not good because of staffing.

Ill try leaving my email to managment here since my 2 attempts to reach and of the 3 managers at the property have gone unanswered.

Dear Mark Molly and Veronica,

I hope this letter finds you both well. I am writing to express my concern and disappointment regarding my recent experience at your hotel. During my stay, I encountered a significant issue with my room key, which stopped functioning due to a hotel error related to your key system. I found myself locked out of my room. When I approached the front desk for assistance, I was met with a confrontational and accusatory attitude from one of your employees, Victoria. Instead of receiving support and understanding for a situation over which I had no control, I felt blamed and was treated rudely, which was both disheartening and humiliating. As a paid guest, I expected to be treated with respect and courtesy, especially when dealing with a hotel error. The response I received only compounded my frustration and left me with a negative experience. I hope you will take my experience to heart and address the communication and customer service practices with Victoria. I will also add the hotel is lovely. The greeting gift and front desk help was amazing. I hate that an employees surprising and confrontational attitude impacted what would have been a lovely stay. Thank you for your attention and I look forward to your response

I recently stayed at the Courtyard Chicago St. Charles for my nurse practitioner skills event. While the event itself was stressful, the warm and welcoming atmosphere at the hotel, particularly thanks to Ms. Paula, made my stay much more pleasant.

Ms. Paula was incredibly personable and helpful, going above and beyond to ensure my sister and I felt comfortable and well-cared for. Her positive attitude and genuine concern made a significant difference during a potentially stressful time. I highly recommend this hotel, especially if you have the pleasure of being assisted by Ms. Paula.
I look forward to returning closer to graduation and hope to see her again.
