This hotel has absolutely fantastic service. The hotel itself feels a little dated but the staff at the front desk and the restaurant were just so engaging and friendly and obviously wanted to make our stay pleasing. I would definitely stay here again

No acknowledgment of my lifetime platinum status at check in. Should have received free bottled water (I had to pay for it), no complimentary upgrade, and even though I specifically told them when I checked in I did not have a car, they charged me $7.00 to park. Elevator was so far from my room I was told it would be easier to carry my bags up to the second floor (I’m 72). Found a “palmetto bug” (nice name for a cockroach) in my bathroom. Now I am told it will be 7-10 days to get the parking charges credited back. On a positive note (probably the only one) the restaurant service was very good. Do better Marriott!

It was a very nice hotel, close to the place I needed to be. Very friendly staff and welcoming 🙏. 15 minutes away from the airport. Very nice location. There is a Starbucks inside which is really convenient. The rooms were very clean and the room was perfect 👌

Firstly, the price of the hotel for the service and outdated rooms is too high.
Secondly if you're not a Bonvoy member, you don't get shuttle service, no free wifi (like they advertised for all) there is a café inside with Starbucks sold coffee, everything is up charged.
The rooms: wallpaper peeling off on the edges, stains on the walls from spilled liquid, stains on the carpet, old food smell in the room, the plastic clear guard they put on the AC rattles so loud and you can't take it off, in the bathroom there was mold on the shower metal where the glass rolls, the coffee pot in the room was extremely dusty and dirty inside, the sheets did not fit the mattress and popped off the edges.
The water was so hot it was steaming in the sink and showe, there was no cold water coming out at all.
Not to mention they only have one elevator so far from the entrance when my room was on the second floor.
Looks like the only part they renovated was the front entrance.
By far the worse stay I've had this year at a Marriott.

Room smelled and was outdated. Too much moisture in shower/toilet room from one shower. Everything was damp. Rusty bathroom fixtures. Beds are full size (tiny for 2people), NOT queens! Only one mirror and sink for 4 ladies getting ready. Terrible lighting too.

We were there for an unfortunate family emergency for 9 days EVERY staff member was more than helpful and sympathetic and tended to our every need. Thank you all. Couldn't ask for a better hotel for hospital stays.

I booked a reservation and canceled it less than 24 hours later, well in advance of the actual stay. Despite this, the hotel refused to offer any refund or even a partial credit. I understand policies exist, but good customer service also requires a level of fairness, flexibility, and basic human understanding—none of which I experienced here.

It’s disappointing to see a hospitality business prioritize short-term profit over long-term guest satisfaction. I didn’t use the room, didn’t step foot on the property, and yet I’m being charged as if I did. This experience left a very bad impression, and I won’t be booking here again.

I stayed here for two days while in the Birmingham area for business. POSITIVES- Very fast/dependable wifi, rooms are quiet & comfortable, easy access from I-65 & Lakeshore Dr., friendly & helpful staff, clean & maintained fitness center. NEGATIVES- hallway & room carpet need deep cleaning, while the dining was nice, the prices for food & drinks are definitely on the high side.
