Found a very well nourished looking bed bug crawling on the shower curtain upon arrival. I checked the room and bed thoroughly and didn't see any others until I got up for a drink and saw there were bed bugs crawling around on the pillow I was just using. This was incredibly revolting and disappointing. The only criteria I required when choosing this hotel was the lack of bed bugs complaints. Well... Way to ruin your "perfect" record guys! The front desk gave my husband and I a new room which seemed to be less infested with bed bugs. This is kind of like saying there's only a tiny bit of poop in the drinking water. The correct amount should be zero. Zero poop in the water. Zero bed bugs in my hotel room. Those are the expectations in a civilized world for exchange of money for shelter at the Radisson. Come on guys, do better. Nobody wants to deal with that nonsense after driving for 13 hours. Raise the bar, get your house in order! You just lost another 2 customers! Pretty lame.

Our stay (family with young children) at the Country Inn & Suites by Radisson in Effingham, IL, was disappointing, and unfortunately, it did not meet our expectations based on the photos and description online.

When we arrived at 5 PM, the front desk staff member struggled to communicate with us effectively. We requested a few extra bath towels and an extra comforter, but we were given washcloths and a fitted sheet instead. Once we got to our room, we discovered the toilet wasn’t working. We immediately reported it to the front desk, but the staff member said he wasn’t sure what he could do and would get back to us. Unfortunately, he never followed up, leaving us and our young children with a non-functional toilet for the rest of our stay.

The room itself was disappointing. It had an unpleasant odor—possibly due to the toilet—and was in poor condition. The paint on the walls was chipping, and the headboards were peeling and looked unclean. Additionally, the beds were incredibly firm and very uncomfortable for us.

Overall, this stay was far from what we expected, and we would not recommend this hotel. It’s clear that both the service and upkeep of the property need significant improvement.

We stayed at this hotel last night on our way home to TN. Staff was super sweet, breakfast was good (very clean), rooms were average (clean sheets and hot shower-can’t complain). Unfortunately, we were in a room facing the front of the building which also faces the interstate. We didn’t sleep well because you can hear every semi drive by. If you are stopping here, request a room in the back of the building-otherwise you might as well keep driving and not stop because you won’t sleep lol.

Positive: The Price Negative: The Bathtub had no safety rails or bath mats. I fell in the tub and required help to get out! Tub was very slippery!!

My husband and I decided to stop on our way home in the middle of the night due to exhaustion. It was too late to book online, so we called around, beginning in Terre Haute. Most hotels that had availability attempted to overcharge us due to demand in the area, and we almost resigned ourselves to napping in our car.
We decided to get this hotel a shot, about an hour away from where we were. Brandon picked up and immediately started to try to get us what we needed. He was so friendly and a welcome encounter after so many negative ones.
We arrived very, very late, but he had a king suite ready at a price much lower than what we had been quoted at other places. The room was clean, spacious and the bed was comfortable. Brandon even allowed me to get some water from the breakfast area because their vending machine was down. Speaking of breakfast, it had hot and cold options & was very clean. The area was safe and parking was ample. We had such great encounter; we are contemplating making this hotel a permanent stop on our journey to South Bend every year!

Positive: Excellent rate, nice room, decent breakfast. Pool and hot tub were well-maintained. Close to multiple restaurants. Negative: Wifi was very weak. A lot of highway noise.

Arrived late, left early! Beds were comfy, shower pressure was good. Night was quiet! The breakfast buffet started at 6:00 am, which was nice for our early start. Lots of hot/cold choices, easy access to Interstate as we continued to St. Louis.

Positive: "" Negative: The wifi would not connect to our tablets but were able to connect on our phones. The hotel is right next to the freeway so there was noise throughout the night, however it became almost a background white noise and did not distract from our sleep.
