Absolutely amazing experience here. The room and bathroom amenities were spectacular. They also provided a picnic backpack that had everything in it that provided an amazing experience. There's assigned parking, a front porch with lounge chair and table to enjoy the evening with a bottle of wine from one of the vineyards. For my first time in the cottage, I'm truly impressed. Will be returning for the next time around.

We recently stayed at the Cottage Grove Inn in Calistoga over Thanksgiving with our family and close friends, and unfortunately, it was one of the worst hospitality experiences we’ve ever had.

The smoke alarm in our room malfunctioned and went off every 30 minutes throughout the night, leaving us unable to sleep at all. While we understand that issues can arise, the response from the staff the next morning was shockingly dismissive and unprofessional. When we shared our experience at checkout, instead of apologizing or offering meaningful support, the lady at the front desk deflected by claiming we hadn’t provided a credit card for incidentals (completely unrelated to the issue) and blamed us for not calling their emergency number during the night.

We chose not to call out of respect for the staff, given it was Thanksgiving, and expected the hotel to take responsibility for ensuring basic comforts like a functioning smoke alarm. Instead, we were made to feel at fault for their negligence. To top it off, the only “compensation” offered was a glass of wine—not even close to addressing the magnitude of our ordeal.

This experience was especially disappointing because we had stayed here the weekend after our wedding 20 years ago and had fond memories of the property. Clearly, the service has deteriorated significantly since then.

I would strongly recommend against staying at this property. The complete lack of accountability, unprofessionalism, and disregard for guest comfort is unacceptable, particularly at this price point. Save yourself the trouble and book elsewhere.

Wow! My girlfriend and I spent an amazing weekend at the Cottage Grove Inn last month and was so impressed by the entire experience. The staff checking us is were very friendly and pleasant. The room was extremely romantic and had everything we would want! Our rooms came with two bikes which we used all weekend to explore the fabulous restaurants and bars of Calistoga. I highly recommend this getaway !!

I pulled into the property I couldn't believe how incredibly cool it is. The grounds are stunning! I felt like I was transported back to the 1920's and I was happy to be there. I had seen the photos and Instagram posts of this place and the reality is better. I was traveling with my dog so finding nice accommodation can be, at times, challenging. Check in was great. Front desk made me feel at home right away. I was given a gift of welcome treats for my dog, information about the area and some helpful tips of where to visit. My cottage was so cute!! I stayed in #9. The porch with chairs and table is perfect. (I want a screen door just like theirs.) The room was a very good size. There was a doggie bed and bowls for my "baby". The music playing softly on arrival was a nice touch. Everything was sparkling clean. I found myself really appreciating the one way road design of the property. The location is good for walking to shops and restaurants. Calistoga is very pet friendly. The included continental breakfast was a treat. Tasty selections and a really laid back, relaxing atmosphere. There is plenty of ice and they have a Spring water dispenser ( both available 24 hrs) right by the main office. I like my ice. I booked this stay thru Expedia, not my normal venue. I know that on my next stay in Calistoga I will be staying here for sure!

The place was charming and cottage was very cozy.|The bedsheets smells so wonderful I just want to lay underneath it all day. It was sweet smelling but not overpowering unlike the chlorox smell or disinfectant smell in big hotels. Bed was plush and comfortable. Amenities were good. To top it all there is a jacuzzi in the cottage.|I would definitely recommend this place and stay again.

Let me start by saying the property is amazing. It is beautiful, lush, quiet & personal. My wife and I are celebrating our 14 year wedding anniversary here at Cottage Grove Inn. The extra touches to make my wife feel extra special today was phenomenal. I highly recommend this location to everyone.

Stayed here on our honeymoon 25 years ago and have been back several times since. Cottage Grove Inn is the perfect location for a wine country getaway. Cottages are great and the breakfast options were delicious. An easy walk to downtown for shopping and dinner, and great hiking on the Oat Hill Mine Trail. Highly recommend!

My husband and I stayed here recently and we loved it. Our cottage was very sweet - when we arrived, our loaner bikes were out front (sadly it was raining and we didn't get to use them) and we had a personalized postcard greeting us when we got inside the room. The king bed was very comfortable and we enjoyed having a fireplace. One thing we liked the most about staying here was that Calistoga is very charming and walkable. We enjoyed strolling through cute shops and eating pizza at the farmers market. We were in town for a wine-tasting event and Cottage Grove Inn was close enough for us to walk there. Our cottage felt very quiet and private - we will definitely stay there again.

I didn't give the room a higher rating, because I think the rooms could use some updates. The bathroom needed a little TLC and the decor looked a bit tired. Our bed was very comfortable though and the room was cozy.
