I've spent countless summers and some winters there for camp. Each year the staff is friendly and helpful, the area is beautiful, and the experience is truly one of a kind. The hiking trails always lead to fun areas, and wildlife can be seen somewhat commonly, but never to a dangerous degree.
Cabin 38 will forever be my home way from home.

Great place to be in the spring and summer. They have a big pool, trails, and the most beautiful viewpoint of the Sierras! The different colored sweet peas are lovely to look at and if you like bird watching your in for a big treat. I've seen bald eagles, gold finches, owls, hawks, bluejays, robins, and tangers.

Situated on several acres of woodland, this retreat is the perfect getaway to have a change of scenery from staying at home during the pandemic. Lots of space to spread out and observe social distancing. Sandra who runs the camp is great and reacts quickly to any requests. Definitely recommended for a group getaway

Visited as part of a group type event Great place in the Great outdoors home away from home. The only thing that need to be careful about is heat drink lots of water while outside. It also gets warm in the cabin area so keep that in mind.
Also at night I could look up and see the stars for the first time in a while. I live in the city so that was a treat 🌟

I attended a men's retreat with my service animal at this camp. I was welcomed by the camp staff the first day, but the next morning, the camp director made my stay a nightmare. Providing documentation hat isn't required by law or their terms and conditions, I was banned from the dining hall and all carpeted areas of the camp. I was treated so rudely that I had to arrange emergency transportation since I had carpooled. This camp director was dead set against working with me in any way and did everything she could to drive me out of camp. I would be cautious about booking this camp with a director that is intolerant and rude.

Not the easiest place to find but well worth the struggle nonetheless. Keep driving through Foresthill for a few miles and turn right on Michigan Bluff Road. After many turns and switchbacks you eventually see the entrance to the virtual ghost gold mining town of Michigan Bluff. Turn left onto Chicken Hawk Road. (Leland Stanford operated his first store here). Less than a mile further is CGC entrance. The remoteness and smell of pines is intoxicating for sure. The newest addition is the classy modern Irvin Dining Hall. Fenced swimming pool, with changing rooms and restrooms, is a real plus. Lots of good trails for level walking. The ultimate solitude and ambience here is bound to enhance the bonding and collegiatlity of your group so enjoy every minute. My last visit was shortly after opening of new dining hall. (Perhaps ten years ago.)
