Came down for northern illinois base all games. Basically across the street from the stadium. Rooms were clean beds were comfortable. It was very quiet and had a small breakfast in the mornings. A couple restaurants nearby, otherwise it is a little drive to a busier area with more options. Had a pool but didn't use it.

If I could give a 0 star I would , paid for the upgraded jacuzzi room , jacuzzi did not work , staff moved me to another jacuzzi room same problem with that tub. I asked the staff if my room rate would be changed and kept getting the reply of only the GM can change it. This went on for 3 days beds are hard as a rock , trains shake the building all night long. Strong smells of cigarettes and weed that comes through bathroom vents. By the 3rd day and checkout time stood at the desk for 20 min ringing bell as someone was also calling no staff. Finally guy came out of a room asking if I was there long. Duh , asked about my room rate change and his reply was I can’t do anything. Apparently he’s just night crew. That alone about set me off. Breakfast is still just eggs and sausage and bisquits . Out of milk half the time for cereal. Anyone looking for a hotel drive the extra 20 min for the Holiday Inn you’ll thank me later.

This is an adequate hotel. Room was clean and bed comfortable. The hotel seemed warn and in need of an upgrade. Breakfast was very basic, and many of the offerings were gone by 7 am. The staff were out of sight, barely friendly, and seemed to resent serving customers. But, it worked for a night’s stay. Would not go back unless nothing else available.

Worst experience. I felt uncomfortable as soon as I walked in one of the staff members spoke to me in Spanish and mind you he was not Hispanic and i know English. Talking to me like I needed a hearing aid as if I couldn’t comprehend what they were saying. Made me feel like he was being racist towards me. Then the room I got was not clean still had a dirty wash cloth on the railing of the shower so I know it wasn’t clean properly. The breakfast was horrible and cold and barely any left over. Never again !!!

A very horrible place very dirty fire alarm got pulled kids were knocking on doors all night. There was no breakfast left. Somebody threw up in the front of the motel and tracked it through the motel not a very good experience.

This is an absolute dive. Rude customer service, ( I work at nights and I went to get a cup of coffee and after I got my first cup of coffee I went back to get a second one on the way out the door but they had turned the coffee machine off because I'm not supposed to get coffee after hours. Are you serious?) terrible breakfast (cold biscuits, cold sausage patties and cold egg patties, waffle iron didn't get hot enough to cook them), terrible location. I just can't say enough bad things about this place. Unless you have nowhere else to sleep but the streets in a gutter don't go here

I travel a lot on business and leisure as well, though usually prefer Marriott brands, Comfort Inn/Suites is my fallback when one isn't around. That's the case when in the Dekalb area and this location is why I started staying with this brand.

The owner and his wife are extremely friendly and accommodating, taking pride in providing clean rooms at reasonable rates and not treating guests like the one off guest most are is refreshing. Simple yet good breakfast options and a staff that's always available and ready to help with whatever is needed.

If you're in town and looking for a nice, clean, comfy and truly decently priced accommodations, Comfort Inn in Dekalb is the place to stay.
