Very clean rooms, better than I expected from previous reviews, they paid attention to details with cleanliness. The staff were great and pool and hot tub was nice to have. My kids loved it. Felt safe with their layout and security measures for guest entry. Looking at Google maps it looked like a homeless encampment near the freeway but it's no longer there.

Stayed there last night and the gentleman checking me in was so friendly, the rooms were nice and the location just off the freeway was perfect. Breakfast in the morning was an added perk and the self made waffles, potatoes and sausages were all delicious. Will definitely be staying here again.

Absolute worst. The hotel staff had the worst attitude, least professional behavior. I was refused service on my second day of my stay because they wouldn't except my identification. Even after they excepted it the day prior. Then they informed me to not worry, that staff member will be written up. I also had some staff member taking to me from behind a wall in her office because I guess this didn't warrant her getting off her chair. Also most the light switched didn't work. Water from the shower smelled like vinegar and your right next to the highway. Good luck with your sleep.

We received a $250 charge on our credit card after checking out of the hotel stating it was a "Smoking Fee". My wife and I do not smoke, nor have ever smoked in our life time. However, we were charged for smoking. I filed a dispute with my bank. I also called the front desk 3 different occasions to inquire about this false charge until my bank informed me that their reason was "Smoking Charge". This is a scam. I should have known better when we checked into our room and the whole door knob/card reader assembly fell out of the door. I had to inform the front desk that we could not lock or enter the door. They did fasten it for us as it was missing the hardware to secure it. You can't make this up. We stayed one night at the hotel to tend to family emergency in Chula Vista. The location of the hotel was ideal for us. However, I am not forced to elevate this issue to the corporate office of the Comfort Inn. This is obviously a scam and I refuse to be scammed over a false charge and a false statement to my bank whom I have been in business with for 28 years. Unacceptable. If the Hotel manager would like to call me or meet me in person I am 100% available to have a conversation about this. In the meantime, please know that if you check into room 310 at the Comfort Inn Chula Vista San Diego South you will be charged a smoking fee even if you have never smoked before. What a corrupt location for business. I will continue to dispute this false charge until I am refunded my false charge. Unprofessional to say the least.

Clean, functional kinda place to stay. The only entrance is the front lobby, so if the lot is getting ful, you have a bit of distance to lug your stuff. They do have carts, so that helps. Jacuzzi wasn’t working when we were there ☹️- I called prior to our cutoff to cancel the reservation and was told it was working. The keycards worked on first attempt. 👍

Decent hot breakfast with the usual: eggs, meats, breads, waffles, hash brown patties, fruit, cereal. Coffee was standard, but hot and several creamer options. And I think they had hot chocolate.

I would stay here as often as possible. They have all family-friendly amenities. Staff is always willing to help. The only thing they need to fix is the wifi speeds and that 1st elevator😅 book here. You'll enjoy it!

Flew in from Corpus Christi Texas with 20 yr old son. STAFF VERY nice!! Beds very comfortable!!!!!ESPECIALLY the sheets, was told no jucuzzi until 3 days in, but worked on Friday, could be a titch hotter, been in many hotels over life with both positive and very negative experience, this one rates higher than middle of the pack, smelled pot in hallway and elevator a few times, then cigarette stinch in hallway. Managemt offered room change,I denied unless 1x more, the next day the elevator being aired out, and no more smell of cancer sticks, this is California and to be expected, wake up, pot unfortunately legal here!!!! Overall a fair-good stay, lots of eating around and circle k cross street, caution on taking walks, homeless under bridge and on trails to mall, once again a state that I grew up on the homeless has quadrupled since the 90,s, SAD. SOME Previously noted complaints on this hotels reviews are probably b.s, /place is clean and our room was IMMACULATE after maids came. Enjoy san Diego and this hotel, God Bless everyone john10:10

If you want asbestos exposure this is the place for you. I rented a room and found dirty socks and asbestos on the floor from the old "popcorrn" ceiling finish. It was scattered all over the floor near the AC unit.

Asbestos is known to cause cancer when exposed. I advised the manager and she didn't even apologize. She also lied about a 50% discount and gave me 15% off instead! Her attitude is disgusting, as well.

I will never stay in this filthy, contaminated hotel ever again.

I already informed OSHA about this hazard.
