If you can pay a little more and book another hotel next to this one I would. It is very run down. The breakfast is fine, but it never changes. The room was spacious and clean overall but needs lots of updating. There were water stains on the ceiling and the carpet was ripped. The staff was very nice. If you are short on money this one is fine, otherwise I would not stay here again.

Nice hotel, I use a wheelchair so reserved a wheelchair accessible room that was actually big enough and designed to be wheelchair accessible:-)| Breakfast was the standard Choice hotel chain breakfast with the minimum (no biscuits and gravy). My only complaint: the breakfast is served using the cheapest plastic ware I have ever seen (I told the staff too).| HINT: the manager should go visit the Quality Inn Bradley down the street about 2 miles which has one of the ONLY breakfast served on real plates with real silverware..(they were booked :-(| Overall a decent place

Staff was friendly, lobby is nice, but everything else is poor. I was put in a non smoking room but the lamp shades were caked yellow and the room reeked like cigarettes. I changed to another room which was better but still very outdated, and I had to wiggle a wire on the cable box to get the TV to work. There is no working hot tub like they advertised. It's taped off and looks like it won't be in service anytime soon.
The staff was very helpful, they just obviously need more funding to make this hotel decent.

I normally hate rating a place off of one interaction but this was too egregious of a stay to not eventually review.

I worked locally and stayed in this hotel as it was pretty fairly priced and albeit a bit of a drive the location was actually pretty decent all things considered. The issue however was the low quality of rooms.

I'm more than familiar with Choice Brands and I know and recognize that it is often a gamble on the quality of rooms, that being said Comfort Inn is usually a safe bet and is the mid-grade stay for Choice.

The first immediate issue was the air conditioning (presumably filter) was so smelly and moldy that it made me feel ill staying in the room. I would sneeze and sneeze and sneeze constantly. The smell was so putrid I felt nauseous many nights and struggled to sleep. I reported this to the front desk.

Then I discovered a live bed bug on the second bed on my towel in my room a few nights into my stay. I checked the first bed doing my due diligence but as I wasn't sleeping in the other one I didn't really look at the second bed and that is a major regret. I reported it to the front desk and they moved me no issue and I even said if they'd like to have the manager call me I can explain what I saw and show them pictures. I'll get into how terrible the General Manager handled that phone call in a bit.

When they moved me to the second room it was likewise a nightmare. The bed was rickety and would lean when I rolled over, the fridge didn't work and I had to get it replaced, the shower didn't drain properly, and the toilet shook. I was worried when reporting these other issues as I was anxious about getting checked out, remember that phone call?

Let's get into that phone call now. He called me to scream at me over the phone about how I'm a liar and how offended he was that I discovered a bed bugs in his hotel. All I wanted was to inform him and help in whatever policy and procedure they might have involving bed bugs I didn't even mind the situation itself and at the time didn't want a refund. He threatened to check me out of the hotel when I informed him I had pictures I was willing to show him so he can complete a full investigation. Keep in mind I was working night shift and would not have time to make new accommodations. I had to do all the de-escalation just so I wouldn't have to try to find a last minute hotel during when I was supposed to be sleeping. On top of that he took the liberty to inform me that my request of not being woken up by housekeeping was being denied (after I got him to calm down enough to not check me out) and that they would continue to wake me up every 4 days.

The rest of the staff were lovely people but the General Manager is by far one of the worst service workers I've ever encountered.

Positive: The hotel seemed clean and was close to where we needed to be. Negative: The hotel needs major renovations. Lots of water stains on ceiling and walls. The breakfast was the exact same thing every single day. The hot tub was down.

Update: multiple calls to management and never receiving a callback. 3 days before my European visitor, they cancel and refund my card. (Received through email!) I am scrambling to find accommodations for 15 days now. This was booked since July.
This is no way to do business.

I recently had high hopes for my stay during a very special 15-day European reunion trip that I had planned for months. As someone who was returning to the South Side suburbs for work and personal reasons, I was particularly drawn to this hotel due to its proximity to my workplace and its advertised amenities, especially the pool and jacuzzi.

I booked my room well in advance and contacted the hotel monthly to confirm everything was in order, especially since I was initially informed that the jacuzzi was temporarily shut down for cleaning. Unfortunately, during an overnight stay for my birthday, I discovered that the jacuzzi was still completely out of service, with the front desk mentioning that maintenance was still working on it.

With my extended stay approaching, I inquired about the possibility of construction affecting the jacuzzi, but I was advised to check in periodically for updates. Just a week before my scheduled arrival, I was devastated to learn that the jacuzzi would no longer be available at all. Despite having fully paid for my room months in advance, I received no option for a refund, nor any accommodation for the missing amenities.

In an attempt to resolve this situation, I requested an upgraded room, but after two days of waiting, I still have not received any response. The amenities were a significant reason for choosing this hotel, and it’s disheartening to see them fall short of expectations.

Additionally, during my birthday stay, I experienced issues with a whirlpool tub in my room, as debris came out of the jets and the light fixtures were rusted. I reported this to the staff, but it only added to my growing disappointment.

Overall, I am deeply dissatisfied with my interactions with the hotel and the issues encountered. I had looked forward to a memorable reunion, but the lack of communication and failure to provide promised amenities have left me feeling let down. I hope this review serves as constructive feedback for the hotel in hopes that future guests won’t have similar experiences.
