The room I got had some sort of funky smell. But the hotel was full due to a concert in town. I booked with points so I just bought a candle and made it work for the evening. The room itself would have been nice other than the smell.

Employee at check was no too friendly but was very helpful. All other staff was excellent throughout our stay.
Room appeared to be clean, with the exceptions of candy wrappers on floor and hand prints all over the headboard. Looked like whomever stayed there before had a really good time. I keep some Lysol wipes so I didn’t bother calling housekeeping.
Carpet looked fresh and clean.
There was no soap in the bathroom whatsoever.
The room didn’t have any bad smells.
the tub was really slick with no traction. Shower curtain was clean. The air condition was not loud at all.
The toilet paper holder was in a really weird place. water pressure was great. The bed was extremely comfortable.
I believe that this hotel is in need of a small upgrade. Sheets and curtains were stained. Lamps, Lights and sink fixtures were corroded. Walls were chipped and had stains on them. Some things need to be replaced. if these things are fixed it will be a very nice hotel, but if not then it will go downhill quickly. Which would be a shame.
It’s winters so the pool was closed, but looked clean and well maintained from the parking lot.
The parking lot was well designed so no matter where you park there isn’t a long walk to the front door. Parking lot was well lit and clean.
We went down for breakfast, (8:30ish) housekeeping had marked us as checked out. So someone walked in on us after we returned. Though they were friendly, Housekeeping was LOUD in the morning, I felt it was very inconsiderate and would have been very mad if I wasn’t already awake.
There was a loud commotion in the hall late in the night, I called the front desk. Seemed to handle the situation quickly.
Breakfast was very enjoyable. The food was fresh and the attendant was very nice, helpful and kept everything very clean.

Hotel needs remodeling real bad. Elevator smelt like pickles my day of check in. My room was horrible with stains on sheets, curtains, walls and chair. Walls were patched up..I would rather stay overnight in my car than stay at this hotel again…

Excellent hotel..... Clean, quiet, reasonably priced. Easy access to major highways.
Staff was friendly & attentive.
Will stay again when stopping in Birmingham area

Our stay at Comfort Inn Irondale was great! Very clean and the staff was friendly and helpful! Would return for sure! Fluffy pillows! (4 per bed!) The breakfast was plentiful. Parking area was safe and secure. Conveniently located next to stores and food as well!!

My room was gross - stains on the sheets and gum in the bed. Walls were dirty with some sort of splatter. Very outdated hotel. My keycard kept needing to be re activated for my room which was annoying. Would not stay again.

Stayed 2/26/25. My grandson was being checked for a heart murmur the next day. Checking staff was great. Our first room had a toilet leak and they kindly moved us to another room. Rooms were comfortable. Rough night though light outside was really bright.
Breakfast staff very nice. Breakfast was good too.
Checked out and thought all was good. When I called to check on my deposit refund i found out that they kept my $100.00.
Now there was a 2 and 3 year old with me and one spilled orange juice which I got up as soon as it happend and the 3 year old gotsick and I cleaned up as soon as happened. I washed the orange juice off bottom sheet and put a towel on the top to dry it out. As all you moms would do. The sick one just got top sheet. I cleaned off Bed and put in bathroom with towels. Room was clean when we left. Trash in teash etc.
Well I was surprised to find out that they kept my full deposit of $100.00. I was told that one of the kids peed on bed and ruined the mattress. Can you believe no mattress pad!!!! Oh my God I couldn't believe that a hotel does not put a mattress pad on their beds to protect us. I had always thought it was a health dept thing to have a mattress pad to protect us from mites , bed bugs and diseases. UCH! I would never have stayed here if i knew that it is a franchise and apparently they do as they want.
Anyway I've filed a complaint with their main office, Choice Hotels. Tomorrow I will call Sheila who im told is the manager who did this and will post an update.
In the meantime does anyone know if the health dept isn't supposed to protect us from this stuff.as you can tell I am upset because not only did they fail to take proper steps to protect their property to their best ability but us as a client as well..I DKN ANYBODY WHO DOESNT PUT A MATRESS COVER OVER THEIR MATRESS TO PROTECT IT OR THEMSELF!

Great price. Place was clean, service excellent, & breakfast was above what you expected from a non-high in hotel. Would definitely go there again if I'm ever back in Birmingham.
