We were visiting friends in the area and looking for something for our kids to do. Found this place and we all had a great time! The kids spent most of our trip panning for gold which was a good time. It was interesting to walk through the town and see all the older buildings. Wish we could have stayed longer to explore, but it can be a lot of walking. If you have little ones, bring a stroller.

This place was super cool. If you want to take a look at the old days, this place is perfect for it. All the buildings are very rustic and western decor and atmosphere. You can see the way a pharmacy looked in the late 1800, the old school house, the gun smiths, you can make your own candles, and they have a photographer that takes pictures of your group dressed up like the folks in the 1800’s (for a fee of course) but really fun to have take, and a lasting memory. Also there are horse drawn carriage rides, and a candy store plum full of everything sweet you can imagine, and even some things you probably couldn’t imagine. Check it out if you’re ever in that area, it’s worth the stop.
There were restrooms available for public use, and there was a couple areas that you could sit and rest and grab a bite to eat.

This is a historic place, a " live history town," not a ghost town. It has preserved its history and is worth a visit. It's good for all ages.
It has a leather shop, a mercantile shop, a wonderful handmade chocolate shop and more.
We had a nice lunch at the Columbia Restaurant where lucky for us one of the locals played piano!
