Having visited the Firearms Museum before the 2019 renovation, I anticipated a great experience when I returned recently to see the renovated and expanded museum.

Pros:
* A huge inventory of firearms from various periods, including unique and unusual items.
* Bill Ruger’s Hawken collection, which is nicely displayed.
* Many Browning prototypes and the Olin collection of Winchesters.

Cons:
* Lots of wasted space.
* Most of the items are in drawers (for use of space, but I thought lots of wasted space could have been utilized for a better display.)
* Randomly organized.
* Poor lighting downstairs along with items displayed in drawers prevents seeing much detail or color.
* Many of the information cards are obviously incorrect. Examples: a Remington Model 513S manufactured about 1940 is listed as a model 613 made in 1907; a Winchester Model 94 in .44 Magnum is listed as “.43 caliber.” (.429 bore rounded to .43, but the cartridge designation would be more useful); a Glock 32 is listed as a .357 “magnum.” Many, many examples of such errors exist.

Overall, I was very disappointed in the new museum, but I appear to be in the minority based on the other reviews. Just my opinion. Your mileage may vary.

I enjoy searching for firearms museums and firearms sections in museums. I have visited museums in Canada, Britain, Sweden, France, Brazil and some others in the US. This one is by far the absolute best firearms museum that I have ever visited. I spent a good number of hours there and could have spent many more. The other attractions of the center are great as well, but this museum's collection is just incredible.

We were driving through Wyoming on March 25th we decided to stay the night and spend 2 hours here when the we side says it opened at 8. Well the website is wrong and they don’t open until 10. We only had 2 hours to spend in Cody Wyoming and nothing else really opens until 10. So we didn’t get to see the museum and wasted our time staying a night here on our trip.

Google really doesn't want to show this place on the map. It won't show it unless u search for it specifically. Google is 100% trying to hide this wonderful museum. It's the best museum I've ever been to. And as for Google products, they can't do anything right.

Over 4,500 firearms from the very first to the latest weapons. MASSIVE museum and if you're a gun buff plan to spend some time here. We loved every minute and was in awe from start to finish 👍🇺🇸

Every possible gun you can imagine all very well displayed. Very well worth the road trip from Yellowstone. Plus the road trip offered great scenery on the way.
