We had an excellent experience at The Coast Inn. For a hotel that gets you to and from the airport, with a comfortable stay, it was just what we needed. We found the all staff to be very friendly, and we had a great Salmon BLT in the restaurant. Our room was clean and comfortable. Their free shuttle to and from the airport is efficient and easy to use. One bonus was an easy walk to the historic, and still active, float plane base. I would highly recommend The Coast Inn to any airport travelers.

I throughly enjoyed my brief stay. I booked from across the country and when I arrived (at midnight local time), the staff greeted me immediately with sincere kindness and immediately got me my room key and told me where it was.

The room itself was very clean and tidy. The bathroom was spotless and the sheets were just as clean.

Definitely recommend.

Wonderful hotel, but service was a bit lacking. Lady at the service desk at first told me over the phone they don't take vouchers from Alaska Airlines. Once I showed up and she saw my reservation, she did give us a room, and the rooms were no frills, but clean and comfortable. I would stay there again on my own dime. The Vouchers from Alaska Airlines seem to be off putting to them.

I had to stay here during my military training time. Room smelled like cigarette smoke and very outdated. Bathroom, however, was updated and the shower was fantastic. AC was great and honestly the whole experience wasn't bad, I just expected a little bit more for 240 a night. Shuttle was perfect and the restaurant was good. I felt safe, due to the crime issues I was warned about before arrival. Lake has sea boats and they can get very loud. Hotel employees were super nice. No pool was also a bummer. Wallnpaper in the hallway was pretty gross and peeling off.

People working at the front desk are rude and unaccommodating.

We arrived early at hotel for a 6 am flight the next morning. They had our room ready early but didn't want to let us check in early. Customer service could have been better.

I'll update my review after I experience the actual room. This review is for the service at the front desk.

Zero stars for service.

Room was comfortable and spacious. I found the bed comfortable. Bathroom was good size.
Hotel does not have an elevator.

Resturant was fantastic. Jen in restaurant was a great waitress.

Location perfect. Easy access to the airport and free shuttle.

My issues was the non accommodating attitude from the rude front desk worker named Maggie who rolled her eyes, ignored me and was more interested in just saying NO and carrying on her personal conversations. When I said I was unsatisfied with her response she cop'd out and reminded me that she doesn't own the hotel.

Yet they bended the rules and let others check in early. But blatantly told me no. Unless I was to pay another $50. Even though room had been. Ready for hours. It's little things to make people's experiences better.
They could do better at front desk and by reviewing this policy.

Note I had two rooms booked and to get my family out of the lobby and all our bags I paid $50 for the first room at 10am. I wasn't asking for a huge Bend in policy I wanted in the room at 2:15. She said no and at 2;20 was checking in two other guest when I asked she then said she would check me in and had the attitude.

The location was great near the seaplane lake. The service and the restaurant were quite good as was the size of the room and overall cleanliness. Unfortunately, the hotel is run down and shabby, not in a chic way. Wifi upstairs was very weak. Also, no elevator. The shuttle service to and from the airport was very convenient as well as to the aviation museum.

Gas station/convenience store within walking distance as well as other restaurants.

Coast Inn at Lake Hood was a gorgeous getaway. You are right near a seaplane base and it’s so enlightening to watch the planes land. The hotel bar was phenomenal and the staff working were quite friendly in a secure way. Theres parks, sanctuaries and trails around the hotel. Coast Inn at Lake Hood has got to have one of the best placements for hotels in the AK!

Conveniently located a 5 minute drive from ANC airport, with a regularly running shuttle. The Coast Inn shows its age but is a fine place to stay. The room was clean, the hot water ran freely, and the wifi worked. Didn't have a chance to try the food at Piper's.
