Tried going to Baldy but it was closed due to an iron man race, remembered this one and figured I'd give it a shot. Literally.

Place is beautiful, very clean, organized and a great all around shooting facility. 100 yard, 200 yard & 15 and 25 yard pistol ranges. Also restrooms available.

First come first serve, everyone is polite and friendly. Range safety officer is awesome and there to help with any needs, he even painted the targets florescent orange for us.

A must go for shooting enthusiasts.

They have pistol only range and 50 yards and 250 yard. Easy to shoot. Also seems like people that go here are very friendly. Found people here to even help you sight your scope.

Loved that there are no cease fires or time limits and everyone has no problems cycling in and out when it gets a little busy now and then. The range master is very helpful if u need it but stay outta your way for the most part.the only drawback I found is Except for 1 or 2 places to sit and shoot on the long range spots There are no chairs, tables or places to sit on the range there is a covered picnic table a little ways away by the bathroom though. It is a little further than most places but worth the drive in my opinion. Don't forget to sweep up your casings and dump them in the red bins. I did ours most of the time but No one seemed to want to sweep up while we were there the range master had to keep doing it. This is our favorite place to shoot yet. You can't put targets out but there are plenty of metals ones provided at 25,50,100, and 200 yards. Have fun out there and stay safe.

I remember when this place was a mess. people would just pull up at that location between the hills, put up some targets or garbage or whatever they wanted to shoot at and start shooting.
now it is clean, several shooting lanes separated by berms, steel targets already set up at rifle distance (100 yards) and handgun distance (I believe 50 yds). you just show up, go to the firing line which is nicely marked and paved and start shooting. they even have some tables set up on the rifle lanes to put your rifle on. people are very nice and place is way better than before

Great spot. Clean and will kept. Everyone was well behaved and it's hard to beat free. I do wish there were some 50 yd targets for rifles and 10 yard for pistols. First time taking out my kids and they had a great time and felt safe.

I love this place! Well maintained and I've never had a bad experience with any other shooters that go there. Everyone is really friendly, unlike some places that are run by gun clubs that make it clear you're not a part of the club. It does get overcrowded when the weather is nice but it's free, that's bound to happen

Church Camp is open every day of the week except Wednesday and this has always been the case.
In Wednesday the Rangers and BLM perform maintenance and testing at the shooting range and it is closed to the public.
There are 3 separate lanes to shoot at 70 armor rated metal targets.
There is a 100 yard range with 4 concrete shooting tables that adjust to any shooter and either right or left hand.
The 200 yard range has 3 concrete tables.
The pistol range has 8 targets at 25 yards and 8 targets at 50 yards.
The pistol range is for pistol caliber only!
This does NOT include AR pistols!
AR pistols and other non pistol caliber firearms significantly shorten the life span of the pistol targets.
AR pistols should only be shot on the 100 and 200 yard ranges.
The weekly maintenance includes cleaning, removing trash, cleaning the pit toilets on site and replacement and painting of the actual targets.
There are 70 targets at this range, 2 BLM workers purchase, design, prep and fabricate these targets in house locally in Phoneix. They also do maintenance for Box Canyon Shooting Site, Baldy Mountain Shooting Site and Saddleback Shooting Site which have similar style layouts and metal targets up to ranges of 700 yards.
There are trash and brass recepticles at each site along with brooms and dustbins to collect your spent brass.
PICKING BRASS THAT IS NOT YOURS IS PROHIBITED.
You may keep your own brass.
There are about 18 or so volunteer Range Safety Officers who have been background checked by BLM.
These volunteers supervise and help the public remain safe at the site, especially when it's busy.
BLM Law Enforcement also patrols the ranges but they are looking for unsafe behavior, they don't care about your weapons or NFA items, as long as they are being used safely.
You can shoot up to .50 caliber projectiles including .50BMG
The targets are on their 13th iteration and are currently being built with 3/4 inch thick AR rated target faces in order to stand up to the hundreds of thousands of rounds that are shot here annually.
There are ADA accommodations here with a a concrete parking spot to get onto the concrete pad.
There are 2 pit toilets (Men/Women) as well as 2 gazebos and some picnic benches under each. I have seen these utilized for eating or for families members or friends who do not want to be near the firing line.
The gates are automated so if the entrance gate is closed, the site is closed.
This happens EVERY WEDNESDAY.
If you show up and sit at the gate on Wednesday, that doesn't make a difference, it's still closed for maintenance / testing and occasionally law enforcement training.

Beautiful work by the BLM. It took a long time, but it was worth the wait. Very clean and easy to access/use facility. Three very well setup lanes, 200 yard rifle with benches, 100 yard rifle with benches, and a pistol/small caliber (.22lr) rifle lane out to 50 yards. Steel targets on all lanes, so no need to bring your own. There is a restroom and a small covered picnic table area as well. We went out for the first time this weekend, February 25th, 2023, with a followup the next day. Not crowded at all, and a big shout out to the Volunteer who was out there cleaning up the brass! Oh, almost forgot, we had a visit from the local donkeys, who decided to bray from across the street at all the shooters. We will definitely be back!
