Unbeatable location across Millennium Park, The Bean is literally across the street. Very nice staff. Intricate wood carvings in the lobby, 3 cozy working fireplaces and ample seating, lobby has great atmosphere (but drinks could be better). Great coffee house, restaurant, game room, rooftop bar and sports facilities in the hotel. Rooms are decent, amenities provided, i stayed in 1703 with no view but the hotel was completely booked out so i got what i got, they let me check in way early for free, which was nice. Full mini bar but pricey. All in all great stay with one notable exception. As everywhere else, the thermostat is fake, you have no control over the temperature, it looks like you do but you absolutely don't, so why even install it in the room? Not even a small range, a few degrees of allowed change would have been very helpful. I understand April is still Chicago winter but 73 night temperature with no way to change it is excessive. It's just downright uncomfortable.

Gorgeous hotel. Excellent staff all around, great rooms, great food and beverages. Used to be my go-to in Chicago, and one of the main reasons was the lobby/Drawing Room. It felt exclusive, like a private oasis if you're lucky enough to be a guest. ||Unfortunately, the Drawing Room is now consistently mobbed with students who sit in the comfy fireside chairs all day and seemingly order one drink to comply with the "patrons-only" requirement, hold study groups, bring in their own refreshments, etc. It gets noisy and totally crowded, impossible for guests to find a spot even jammed into a corner to work or relax - it feels like any other Starbucks. Other reviews say you have to get there early to score a seat - not something you'd need in a luxury hotel. They should institute a guest-only policy, or at the very least a guest/minimum tab policy, ASAP.

This hotel is seriously one of the coolest places I’ve stayed in. The vibe is very vintage-meets-modern—with all the original athletic club details still there but mixed with cozy, stylish decor. The location is perfect too—right across Millennium Park, so it’s easy to explore downtown Chicago.

The Game Room was such a fun spot—pool tables, bocce, and great drinks. I also loved the rooftop bar, Cindy’s. The view of the lake and the city skyline was amazing, especially at sunset. Staff were really kind and welcoming too.

Whether you’re staying overnight or just dropping by for a drink, this place has so much character. Totally worth checking out!

My stay at the Chicago Athletic Association hotel was an exceptional experience with beautifully designed rooms in a historic building and an unbeatable location by Millennium Park. While there was a minor billing issue, the attentive staff quickly resolved it for me, demonstrating their commitment to guest satisfaction. This Hyatt property is worth considering even for loyal guests of other hotel chains.

The rooms here are thoughtfully designed, blending historic character with modern comforts. The attention to detail in the room layout and furnishings creates a space that feels both luxurious and welcoming. Each element of the room appears carefully curated to enhance the guest experience while honoring the building's storied past.

The service stands out as a highlight of the stay. When I needed to make a slight change to my check-in, the team handled it with friendly efficiency. Even more impressive was their response to a mistake on my final bill due to a room change - they promptly fixed the issue and ensured everything was made right.

The location of this hotel simply cannot be beat. Situated right by Millennium Park in downtown Chicago, you're perfectly positioned to explore the city's major attractions, dining options, and cultural venues. This prime location adds tremendous value to the overall stay experience.
As someone with Hilton Diamond status, I don't often venture to other hotel brands, but this Hyatt property truly impressed me. The combination of historic charm, excellent service, and perfect location makes it a standout option in downtown Chicago's competitive hotel landscape.

Should you choose to stay at the Chicago Athletic Association hotel, I hope you enjoy the experience as much as I did!

We booked a four night stay to celebrate my 60th birthday. Unfortunately there was a major issue with noise in our room from a wedding event following our long haul flight from London. However, the hotel management and staff could not have done more to make us feel valued guests so we had a fantastic stay overall.

Unfortunately I had a disappointing experience at this hotel.

You’re charged resort fees nightly yet mention of this or explanation of how to access those amenities is not mentioned at check in at all. Due to the layout of the hotel and various amenities further explanation should be standard.

-Best aspect of this hotel is the lobby, it’s great for working or having a drink although access is public anyway.
-The Technogym equipment in the gym is also great!
-you cannot access the basketball court
-bed is very comfortable

I’m very surprised the reviews are so high for this property and am trying to be fair here.

The service is second to none! Dominick at the desk made all the difference. They brought some great treats for our pups and provided bowls & water, + a map for where we could take them to walk!

We had a bump with the valet but Dominick took care of it immediately and we had no doubts after he handled it we’d be good to go. I do hope they add a smith machine and perhaps some bar weights to the gym 🙂

Highly recommend this hotel in the area for great proximity, nice views, and amazing service. A lot of fun to be had inside the hotel as well. Site right over a nice cafe to top it all off. Great spaces for study and work. They offer filtered water and ice direct to the room. Highly knowledgeable staff and concierge.

Dominick was a rockstar. Made all the difference for us.

This is the perfect hotel. I stayed there with my girlfriend over valentines day weekend. We agreed that this is now our favorite hotel and our stay every time we come to Chicago

The decor is amazing and they have more than enough amenities. We drank and played some chess in the game room. (the wings there were so good) The room service was phenomenal always quick. We couldn't get enough of Cindys rooftop so we went every day of our stay for some oysters. Our server on Valentines day, Eddie, was great along with the valentines day chocolate mousse.

The room was spacious enough (standard king) and we got a view of the lake. We are also obsessed with the bath robes that are in the rooms.

Overall, this is a must stay and we will definitely be back!
