Could not be happier with our experience at Cavender Castle. Delaney and Justin were both so accommodating. We had a small wedding on 3/8/24 and we were able to choose the location of the ceremony and took photos around the property as well as inside the Castle. Delaney was very communicative leading up to the day and gave us fantastic recommendations on places to eat and things to do in Dahlonega.

Could not have asked for a better experience. Booking was easy, they kept in touch the whole way, and day of was a breeze - everything was taken care of. Delaney, Leanna, and Justin were fantastic. The ceremony was quick and simple, and everything we asked for- and the pictures were amazing. 10/10 would recommend this to anyone looking for a small wedding.

Cavender Castle was the perfect place to have our small ceremony! The whole family was extremely detailed, kind and professional. Delaney was an absolute dream to work with and a phenomenal photographer! The grounds are stunning. It is apparent of how much they care for it. I truly cannot say enough about what a positive experience wedding planning and the day of the wedding was for me, my spouse and my family. If you’re looking for a more intimate wedding site, look no further!

Excellent kind people! We married last week at the gazebo with a family of 10. Loved that we had the place to ourselves and multiple options setup if we needed to move indoors. Bridal & groom suites were comfortable. We brought our own vendors but Rev Rick helped setup our decor, shuttled family on the golf cart, and was overall ready and willing to help. There was one miscommunication in the planning process, but they quickly corrected and all was well day of. Great people and we had a great wedding!

Rick and Cyndi were wonderful! They were helpful and accommodating to make sure that our special day was perfect and stress free. They never made us feel rushed and made sure we got any and all pictures we wanted before we left. The castle was beautiful for our ceremony, especially in the fall. Cyndi also helped make sure the decorations were just the way we wanted and it was everything we could have asked for.

The Durham family did an amazing job at making my wedding day absolutely perfect. The ladies even helped me with a couple of mishaps that could’ve been much worse had they not been there to save the day. I love this family and this venue. They’re all wonderful. Thank you for helping us have the best day ever. 🩷🩷

Wasn't totally happy with my experience with this venue.
Cyndi, Wendy, Delaney, and Justin were all very nice, and my actual review was too long, so the highlights:

Communication is awful. They didn't communicate with each other well, which meant I had to repeat myself a lot or little details were missed.

The day-of was very unorganized. They hadn't even had their decor up by the time we arrived at the venue (because we were bringing a lot of decor, which needed their stuff to be set up for us to start). Sent over my day-of timeline, and it seems as though it wasn't reviewed because the day was chaotic, with little coordination to keep us on schedule. Little details were missed (like them not gathering our sparklers, which meant my husband disappeared for a while when we needed him to find the sparklers, etc.)

Delaney was great, but I do wish she'd directed the photos a bit more. There are some that would have been perfect with just a little direction ("lift your head a little"), she didn't get pictures of my BMs and myself in our robes, and she didn't fix the hanger on which my wedding dress was hanging for the photos, so I can't use any of the images of my dress alone.

Rick (the owner) was not a pleasure to work with. He was often condescending in our communication and, at some point, stopped communicating with us, at all (handing us off to Cyndi, his wife), without actually mentioning it to us. He'd "vetoed" several pieces of decor from the venue that we'd wanted to use. There was no communication to us about this so that we could make changes or bring something ourselves to replace them. On the day of the wedding, even though we'd started this process with him, while he was present, he did not come and say "hello," "thank you for your business" "I'm sorry about removing the decor." He said nothing to us to the entire night. Very rude.

Overall, there were many little things that I was not happy with, although I enjoyed our night. It was mostly because of my family and friends, who helped. Our Officiant was great, and Cyndi, Wendy, and Delaney were very nice and easy to work with, barring the abovementioned items.
