River Bluff Cabin B was amazing! Perfect for our weekend getaway to fish and sightsee!! Clean and so comfortable!! Friendly neighbors!! Absolute perfect evenings sitting on the deck watching the river and the wildlife around the cabin!! We can't wait to stay in River Bluff Cabin again!! We were also able to park our boat without difficulty in the evenings or while out sightseeing!

First time, small hike to geological cave that is easy although there are stairs. Terrain is combination cement, dirt mixed with rock. |Educational and not near big city. Ferry at Cave in Rock (town) that takes you from Illinois across Ohio River to Kentucky. Great place for photos.

Home away from home. Great place to stay for the price and location. Beautiful scenery and very clean. Rustic yet homey and comfortable. Sit on the deck and watch the sun rise and enjoy the sites of the Shawnee national forest. We will return as it is a very welcoming lodge. Even caught a glimpse at an American bald eagle fly by as we watched from the deck. Loved it!

Nice little cabins with a fantastic view of the river! Cabins are quite high above the river and the view is great. Room was very clean and they accommodated a same day arrival. I really enjoyed staying here and would recommend it. It’s very quiet and out of the way and this makes the view more peaceful and enjoyable.

Great location. Helpful staff. Comfortable accommodations. ||I stayed in cabin 2B for 2 nights. It's a nice sized cabin with a great view of the OH river. It was supplied with all I needed for a 2 night stay (e.g., coffee maker, fridge, plenty of towels, toiletries). The location was convenient to the attractions on the eastside of the Shawnee forest (e.g., Garden of the Gods/Rim Rock). The only real problem I had was the wifi. It was pretty much non-existant in the cabin. I had to go to the Lodge to be able to connect. ||A couple misc notes:|1) There is a connecting door, so you should expect a little extra noise if the adjoining room is occupied.|2) The mattresses are soft. I normally like a firmer mattress. However, I slept well (probably from being exhausted from all the hiking I did).||Bottom-line: I'd stay here again next time I'm down there.

This place is so awesome. The cabins are off the river and have lots of room for families to stay. The food in the lodge is very good. The Manager Kim Mcdowell and the Mayor of the town Marty Kaylor are the nicest people you could meet. My husband and I had a accident visiting Metropolis and are car was not drivable we were an hour a way from the lodge but they picked us up and brought us back to our cabin. They also took us to Marion Illinois to get a rental car and let us stay an ||additional night. Everyone that works here is so nice and friendly. I will definitely come back and tell everyone I know to go there.

Our cabin was pretty great--large space, beautiful view of the Ohio River. Staff friendly and easy to contact, even after hours. Many playgrounds, and lodge conveniently located next to cabins.Only complaints: paid extra for amenities for 6 people and only had bedding and towels for 4; deck left our feet black and had wasp nest. But we'd love to come back and try the restaurant and explore some more!
