We have had an amazing experience here. The place, the scenery, the hosts Mike and Gwen, the food by the very talented Peter, the staff with Aine and Jen were incredible. The rustic ambience was everything anyone could ask for. The lake outside your dorr was simply stunning.

The area is beautiful. The lodge is clean. The food at dinner is excellent, especially the burgers. The CLR burger is THE best burger that I've ever had. The service is great. They make you feel right at home. Good fishing too.
Also, during the winter, when the ski resorts are open, you are really close and decently close to Tahoe. 10 min and 30 min away respectfully.

I've only been to the restaurant so far, but the food is incredible, and the prices are affordable. 3 of us spent about $90 with an entree each, drinks, and dessert. The dinner entrees are more, but the lounge menu is $14-$30 per item. The views of Caples Lake and Round Top are stunning. I can't wait to stay in the resort some time!

Great spot! We stopped by the restaurant for an afternoon hang out after a swim. Good beer options on draft, and their elevated food is a fun and unexpected highlight. Fun, campy space at the foot of the outdoors.

Just returned from a short fishing trip to the Sierras. Decided not to tent camp yet and found The Caples Lake Resort to stay at. Stayed in the Lodge which had a awesome view of the lake and surrounding mountains. The bed was brand new and better than my bed at home. The accommodations were better than I expected with a rustic but very clean feel. In the morning they provided to Lodge guests a very nice continental breakfast. There are also cabins you can rent for more privacy if you wish. The Lodge showcased a beer and wine bar after 3pm and a nice dinner house after 5pm serving very fine meals. It is a true testament that many of the patrons were actually locals. We also rented a boat for a day which was fun with no issues. We definitely will do this again. Mike and Gwen have done a great job of bettering this place and I can see it only getting better and better. It was an awesome weekend!

Mike and Gwen rock! My wife, kids, and grandkids rented two cabins last week for our second annual trip there. A fantastic time was had by all. From my grandsons first fish and great cabins to the restaurant and live music, Caples Lake Resort is a true gem in the woods. The staff is friendly and helpful.
A stay at Caples Lake Resort will be in our vacation plans for years to come.

Excellent experience at the restaurant over Fourth of July weekend. We were able to snag a same day reservation for dinner on the patio. The view was amazing, food was wonderful, great wine selection. Our server, Stacy, was a total gem! 10/10 for Stacy!

Caples Lake Lodge is an amazing spot, the new owners are great! The new restaurant and lounge are gorgeous with a stunning view of the lake and mountains, and the food at the restaurant was incredible. The staff is wonderful and always willing to help. Come and check them out!
