One enthusiastic reviewer noted, Really enjoy bringing our Scouts here and staying in the ridge cabins. Nice break from tent camping in the winter, but we still get to work on some pioneering skills with the wood heat and wood cook stove. The facilities are in good working order, the park personnel are really helpful, and the trails have some nice terrain diversity. We like to bring sleds if there's enough snow on the ground.

Another satisfied camper mentioned, The RV hookups were great, and the picnic tables were perfect for our family meals. We loved exploring the trails and even spotted some wildlife along the way. The staff was incredibly welcoming and always ready to help.

three star: cute, affordable venue but does not openly state that there is NO AC even though the lodge is available year round. it should be made clear, especially for those having special events during the warmer seasons, that there is no cooling system and minimal (2) small fans provided. recommended for late fall/winter occasions or those who are camping and don’t mind sleeping in warmth/humidity during summer.

edit after wedding: one star.
staff had poor planning and were rude to guests. they also had changed the location of the ceremony without getting approval from the bride and groom (!!!?), so our wedding was directly across from a different wedding. the weddings were only one hour apart. while the folks at the other wedding stated they did not mind us sharing the central parking area, the ranger rudely demanded that all guests for our wedding were to park at the lodge entrance then walk down a significant decline to the ceremony area so we wouldn’t interrupt the other wedding.

it was clear and wildly uncomfortable that the other wedding ceremony was given preference over ours—several guests had commented on having rude interactions with the ranger.

the list goes on, but after the wedding day, my family, several of our guests, and I would not recommend having a wedding here.

We had a great time at the lodge! Absolutely beautiful setting and the cabin has many amenities. Make sure you known your headcount as there are a fixed number of beds. I do wish they had directions for using the wood furnace...luckily we found them online otherwise it would have been a bit uncomfortable. Would go again!

A fairly large rustic lodge with a kitchen, a nice open space for gathering or events and indoor bathrooms. And bunks in a loft section for sleeping large groups. Also really good prices!

We were here for a wedding and it was wonderful. Very relaxed. Affordable with the ability to set up and tear down without rushing. Accessible to caterers, plenty of parking CLEAN bathrooms, great atmosphere.

Been here multiple times for an event that is held here every year. This last time a tree landed straight on our tent came out of the ground and just destroyed our tent and a fellow campers tent. Luckily none of us were inside said tents and were sleeping elsewhere, but I don't know if it could of been avoided if they had maintained the trees better considering it was a dead tree and you could tell it was dead for awhile. I won't blame it all on the park considering it was storming pretty bad and raining so the ground got flooded out but, that was the only damage done from the forest and to anybody's stuff so again a little more maintenance would be appreciated. Thank You. 🙂
