BIG SCAM. DON'T EVER BUY GIFT CARDS WITH THEM!!!

We were informed that we need to pay an additional charge of $8 for every $50 the gift card value we had today. They claimed that the charge is from the vendor of gift cards, but Square up website said there should not be any fee when the gift card is redeemed.

When we asked for further terms, they admitted the fee was added retroactively. This is a big charge on top of the gift card that we were not informed of when purchasing the gift card. Such a scam.

I really enjoyed 😌 the experience that I had at this spa!🧖🏾‍♀️ The place was clean, people were friendly, and the massage was good, despite a little too much pressure though sometimes! It was a delight to follow with a relaxing facial massage afterwards too! ☺️

I've been a loyal client of California Day Spa for over ten years, and I can't recommend them highly enough. Ron, Elena, and Mari have consistently provided exceptional service, whether it was for my wedding or my first "big girl job." Their professionalism and expertise have always made me feel confident in my choice, regardless of whether I used a Groupon or paid full price.

What I appreciate most is their transparency. They have always been upfront about any extra add-ons during facials, the number of treatments I would need to see real results, and even what my skin might require that they don't offer, like electrolysis. Their honesty and integrity are truly refreshing.

I've tried nearly everything they offer, from couples massages and whirlpools to microdermabrasion, acne facials, European facials, and hydration facials. Each treatment has been tailored to my needs, leaving me with noticeable improvements in my skin.

Their skincare products are equally impressive. The cranberry scrub, glycolic and salicylic acid toner, ECG cream, and blemish spot treatment are all staples in my skincare routine now—they're both effective and reasonably priced.

California Day Spa is more than just a spa; it's a place where you feel genuinely cared for, no matter your needs. I wouldn't trust my skin anywhere else.

This place BURNED me!

On April 27th, 2024 I went to the California Skin Care & Day Spa for a facial and brow wax. I bought a toner product after leaving and tipped the aesthetician for the services.

Later that night I noticed my right brow bone was burned from the wax. The next morning I could see that it was a first or second degree burn and very painful. The business was closed on Sunday and Monday and therefore I could not contact to complain. I called and spoke to the aesthetician and she apologized and said she would tell Ronald to refund my money. Nothing happened that day. I called back Wednesday evening and spoke to Ronald and he tried to tell me he could only give me a credit. I said that wouldn’t work because I don’t live there. He offered to refund my wax but I wanted the tip refunded. He said he couldn’t do that. I was upset and said then refund me the wax and toner I bought and I’ll call it good and won’t go on Yelp. He came back and refused to do that because the tip was $10 less than the toner. He could have made things right and refused and even questioned why I didn’t say anything earlier. I couldn’t because I didn’t know the severity of my burn until the next day. He made me feel like I wasn’t telling the truth and then refused to do the brow wax refund because he said I threatened to go on Yelp. This place is awful!

*Updating to respond to Ronald. Let me make it clear. I intended to share my experience and Ronald made me feel like a liar and questioned me, pressing me asking why I didn’t notify them sooner about the burn. I didn’t know the severity of the burn until the next day and by then the business was closed for the next two days. I called the third day and left a message for Ronald and that message was never relayed to him. I called and spoke to Ronald on the fourth day and there was no empathy from him. I wanted my money back for the wax service, not the facial, and the tip. I don’t feel someone should receive a tip for burning me. I truly hope no one else has to go through this painful experience and the business could have made it right and instead chooses to say I’m threatening and extorting them, this is how they treat their customers.

I has some warts removed and Elena did not give a flat price. She based each wart by size and charged allot. When asked if I can be numb so the pain would be less she was not willing to do so and she charges for that as well. The $50 initial fee is not subtracted from your amount after the procedure is done. They are a little tricky on that.

This amazing family owned spa is a must try. I have had their massages and facial and can say that my body and skin thanks me. Unexpectedly pleasant - the outside is very unassuming. Elena, Mari, Jason and Ron are some of the best folks there. I now have found a local place to get pampered. They're so friendly and very good at what they do!

I had my facial done , initially she said it was 100 dollars over the phone . When I was on the table halfway done she said it’s $ 260. So my one advice to all make sure you ask the rates before you sign anything , fix the amount first than get the service.
Elaina is really good , she does good work but way too pricey , she will put you on spot to do more and collect more $$
