I've had an exceptional stay at The Budget Inn here. There has been new management for the last few months and it's been an amazing experience. Fresh towels, clean room, quiet during the night, loud during the day of course it's HAYWARD right off of Foothill, extremely convenient for grocery stores, shopping, and transportation if need be. In the heart of Hayward it's incredibly easy to get around. If you don't have the same experience you're doing something wrong. The management is extremely accommodating, and communicate extremely well. If anyone has had a bad review or time they didn't voice their opinion's and that is their problem. People claim the keys are faulty but with common sense realize that their magnetic so any interference with phone, radio, and other magnets will deactivate the card, so be vigilant. The staff is extremely nice and helpful down to maintenance and cleaning ladies. They have a new coffee machine, go-to breakfast and it's fresh and efficient. 5/5 I wouldn't stay anywhere else in Hayward for price and convenience. Love you budget inn! <3 :-)

Stayed here for 2 days room was clean. Must be under new management because staff was nice and friendly. Deposit is only $50. Booked through Priceline for a reasonable price.

Rude staff, disgusting room, and literally no towels in the bathroom, and then told by the front desk that "we are minimum service". You took my $100 deposit but have no towels for your guests, while also lying to me when I have seen other reviews mention having towels in the room.
This isn't even mentioning the fact there was TRASH from the previous guests in the room PRIOR to my check-in and the bed isn't even made.
So, did I spend money to get a room that wasn't even serviced?
Book somewhere else. Spend the extra money. This place needs to be investigated.

Edit for photos* trash from the previous occupants. The state of the bed when I first entered the room I HAD to put the sheets and pillowcases on the mattress prior to the photo. And no towels whatsoever.

Whatever guy works there the guy with the bald spot and beard is very rude, did not listen to me when I told him I paid for an extra day. Then changed my room for no reason, we have had three interactions and he ignored me every time but listen to my non black friend. Very rude to me and my also same skin tone girlfriend, I can tell he is racist. The lady in the front desk was very nice and understanding, he tried to make her take my deposit but she did not. The front desk lady gives very good service

And when the front desk is called nobody shows up.. after four phone calls, I finally checked out of my room. The tweakers and the drug addicts can have that hotel.

Do NOT go to this hotel. The front desk lady was incredibly rude to my family. We had booked the hotel room with three people. When walking into the hotel, we were given two papers with wifi usernames and passwords, one per person. The room was set up for two people, as they have provided us with only two sets of towels. When I asked the front desk woman if we could have extra sheets of wifi(?) she gave me an attitude, saying that each room is only given 2 wifis, and any extra would be charged $2, but hesitantly gave us an extra paper after I kept explaining that we had to rely on wifi for our jobs. After putting in the wifi password, it would barely work, and when we went up to the same woman to get some assistance, she yelled at us, and repeating that it was not her problem. I highly do not reccomend this hotel as its service is terrible, and the stated "free wifi" on their page was a lie.

Worst experience I have ever had. There is no lobby, just a bullet proof window to speak through where you can barely even hear them. Had to walk back to the bullet proof window 3 times within 20 minutes on day 1 of my stay because the room key kept deactivating. Only after the 3rd time did the lady tell me that if they get ANYWHERE near an electronic device, the key deactivates. I've never heard of that. Even after keeping the key far away from any electronics, I still had to get it reactivated 5 more times throughout my stay; almost every day. They actually had the nerve to suggest that I didn't know how to open a hotel room door so I even took a video showing them it wasn't working. Once I got in the room, there where cockroaches; poop and blood stains on the sheets; and black stains on almost all of the towels. House keeping never came to my room (stayed for a week) so I had to track them down with their cart just to get basic necessities like toilet paper and soap. Don't even try the wifi because it's useless. Spoke with the owner about my horrible experience upon check out and she tells me that "we could have addressed these issues at the time but you didn't bring them up." Regardless of when I bring it up, what are you prepared to do about it? She just shrugs her shoulders. I ask her specifically what she would have done to address it at the time and all she could say on repeat like a broken record is "well we could have addressed this at the time." Clearly wouldn't have done anything to address it. I had already killed the roaches so what exactly would you have done? Given me another room? That would have been my 3rd room since getting there. Why would I want another room? So I have to tear that room apart looking for more roaches as well? Absolutely unprofessional and unacceptable. WILL BE speaking with health department.
