California Montessori Project -Shingle Springs Campus, had our Back-to-School Parent Round-Up (a country western theme) at Brookshire Gardens this September. Kurt was available to answer questions through all stages of planning, generous with his time and the usage of the property for our event. It was a gorgeous day, the grounds were well cared for. The venue fit the theme of our event beautifully. Kurt and his wife Nina even directed the flow of traffic for our guests. So helpful! Thank you for a wonderful event Kurt & Nina.

Kurt and Nina have a beautiful property. They are very easy to work with and helped us have a beautiful wedding. The venue is gorgeous in all of the photos. Our family and friends absolutely loved it as well.

Although remote, it was nonetheless a nice outdoor venue for a wedding. The roads leading to it are minimal, but paved. Is it hard to find, even using Google maps? Yes. Very. Scout it a day or more before your event occurs, or you'll be late. Very late.

Despite having scouted it the day before, and leaving with a half-hour of buffer time to arrive, I got there right at the specified time. I was the second group to arrive though, and everyone else came in later, so all was good.

If it's a dry time of year, as it was while I was there, keep your eyes peeled for fires. I put one out that ignited in a garbage can inside our venue. Lucky I saw the smoke. When I shared this with one of my son's party, he said there had been another fire right by there when some paper napkins "accidentally" caught fire at the same spot. So, what you're looking for are "fire bugs". Not a fault of the venue.

Overall I had a ball. Great outdoor venue. Good for group dancing, dining, mingling. The overhead foliage provides good shade, but allows spots of sunshine to break through, which can become a challenge for great photos.

Far from everything, except gambling. About an hour from Tahoe, a little farther to Vegas, if that's your poison. I'm grateful my son and daughter-in-law chose Hawaii. And I chose to recuperate in my motel.
