Excellent vintage hotel restored beautifully to 1880's decor by the hosts. This hotel is very reasonably priced with a great location in the center of Mount Carroll and only 12 minutes from Lake Carroll. We are looking forward to our next stay!

Excellent historic inn that was restored to 1880's decor by the hosts! The inn hosts were very accomodating and helpful! This inn is in the heart of historic Mount Carroll, Illinois and only a 12 minute trip from Lake Carroll. Mount Carroll is a growing town that offers many things to do year round. Bridgewater has very reasonable rates and parking is plentiful! We will return!

We had the pleasure of visiting our home town last weekend and were thrilled that Maria and Brian, our hosts at the Bridgewater Inn, have brought back this historic site to enjoy. What a wonderful stay and Maria was so helpful. Service and accommodations fantastic!

We had a most pleasant and relaxing stay in Mt. Carroll. The Hotel Glenview was a wonderfull step back in time. We felt like we were staying at a turn of the century hotel but with 21st century upgrades! Comfy beds,bright linens,stylish bathrooms were just some amenities. We especially like the minimalist decor. The owners explained many options for shopping and dinning and made arrangements for a light snack and wine. They were more than happy to share their front porch (overlooking town) with us. We plan on returning with freinds. The historic homes and signs explaining their history was also interesting. Beautiful countryside.

We've stayed on 2 separate occasions. Our only regret is that we didn't know about this place the first time we visited Mount Carroll, while attending performances at Timber Lake Playhouse. It's unfortunate that, when doing an internet search for B&B, hotels, in the area, Hotel Glenview never came up. The rooms are upstairs so you need to have the ability to do stairs. Both visits we stayed in a suite, which provides you with your own bathroom, which we prefer. The suite also includes microwave, coffee pot, small fridge, etc. The bedroom had a window air conditioner, which cooled the living area just fine. While the Hotel Glenview is not opulent, it has the charm of a historical inn that is like non other. The hosts, Laura & Larry, are most welcoming & couldn't be friendlier. They welcome you to sit on the front porch, if you like. The shop & recently opened wine & cheese shop downstairs are a bonus to your stay.

If you want a taste of authentic Americana, visit the Sauk Valley. If you make it that far, then don't stop short. Stay in the historic Hotel Glenview. Just seeing the inside of the building was a memorable experience.||||The best part is that everything works -- air conditioning, plumbing, and electricity. Plus, the bed was fantastic. I had a terrific night's sleep. Granted, the building is old and creaky, but it's real. ||||The owner was lovely. She waited up to let me in, no complaints.

Maria and Brian were great hosts! The newly renovated hotel lobby is very reminiscent of the old Glenview hotel and our room was quaint, they even served us coffee and donuts in the morning. Thanks for the great work of keeping the place up, we'll definitely be back to stay again!
