This review is of the restaurant.

We have been coming to Bridgeport for decades and often eat dinner at the restaurant at Bridgeport Inn. The dinner we had on May 23 was wonderful.

The ambiance is historic and charming. The staff was gracious, friendly and took the party of six's order quickly. The wine and beer list was relatively comprehensive. The food was delivered in a timely manner, and grilled according to the order.

The various steaks and sides of vegetables were tasty. I personally was hoping for prime rib but they were out that night. My ribeye was sourced locally from a ranch in the Carson Valley, Nevada. I ordered medium rare, and that was exactly what was delivered. For dessert I had the caramel apple pie with caramel ice cream. It was delicious!

It is the most expensive restaurant in town but well worth it.

I definitely recommend the Bridgeport Inn for travelers who want to experience upscale hospitality in the Eastside of the Sierra Nevada

Wanted to shower after bicycle ride, no hot water! Thought there might be at least warm water in the morning but still none. While taking a cold shower I slipped and fell due to no non slip matt that should be provided. I did notice it was slippery and tried to be careful.
I'm pissed!

Very dated but clean. Fine if just stopping to sleep. Good restaurant, but doesn't open until 8. No coffee, fridge or microwave in room, no coffee .

Just visited for breakfast. We felt it was expensive and bland. Frozen tasteless hash browns and margarine on the toast. The coffee was good

I was hoping for positive changes with new ownership. Was in two weeks ago and felt like I was ripped off. Pastrami on wheat? With frozen sweet potato fries $18.95 an 805 $9.00 mixed with the smell of stale cigarettes from the bartender. I have been in hundreds of times over the years and for the past 10 years or so it not been a great time. If you charge those prices then every customer should be wowed. Not disappointed. Is sounds like you need a new manager or a consultant. Clean up your act. I'll give it a year or two before will be in again. I'll be going across the street to the deli with great food and atmosphere.

We stayed in the motel rooms for one night and it was just fine for that. Clean, no carpet (which I like), hot water and wifi. The bathroom seemed to have the original tile which is cool and a huge walk in shower. Young girl at the front desk in the morning was very nice. Free, good coffee too. No problems.

The rooms are a bit small and get really hot, but the beds are comfy and they keep the place clean and well maintained. Staff were super friendly and seemed genuinely happy to be of service. The food was absolutely delicious; it was like a 5-star restaurant. I would 100% recommend the clam chowder as it was probably the best I've ever had.

I recently had a mid-lunch at The Bridgeport Inn and ordered a steak, but unfortunately, it arrived well-done instead of the medium-rare I requested. The sides were also disappointing—there were only fries, a single leaf of romaine lettuce, and a slice of tomato that didn’t look particularly fresh, so I didn’t even try it.

The overall experience felt very basic, and it seemed like the sides were frozen or just not prepared with much care, which might be because it was during lunch service. The water also had an unpleasant taste, which was surprising considering the great water in the area.
I also was obliged to sit at the bar section because they had a service dog with me and they have a restricted area for service dogs, which I think is completely illegal … unfortunately I couldn’t sit in the nice restaurant part.

I didn’t stay at the hotel this time but might consider it on my next visit. Overall, it was a mid-tier experience, but I’m hopeful for a better one next time.
