Great brunch in a cozy cabin alongside the creek. Huge breakfast burrito. Pretty busy during peak times. I don't know if I'd say it's worth the drive from Denver, Lakewood, etc., but it's one of like 2 restaurants in Kittredge, and the food is as good as any around.

The coffee situation could be better. 3/4 mug of good coffee, and then the refill was a bit watery and burnt, with a bit of a wait in between. Service was extremely friendly though. Maybe they were just understaffed.

We sat outside close to the riverfront. It was very nice to feel the breeze underneath the umbrellas. It's nice to bring your kids. They'll going to love it. The food was great, big portions and very fresh. I had a salmon salad with walnuts and cranberries. Parking lots are limited and hard to find at peak times.

We found this restaurant on our way to Evergreen lake. The high rating of the restaurant caught our attention. Upon arrival, it was pretty empty, we got a table right away. It’s a nice wooden shack style restaurant, right by a small creek. Such amazing spot to enjoy breakfast/brunch close to nature. They have a bar as well. All staff are very friendly and helpful.

We all ordered different items from the breakfast. Everyone loved their dishes. I was impressed with my corned beef egg Benedict. It was a unique dish, as they serve it with piece of hashbrowns underneath. Eggs were cooked so nicely, yolks drip over once you poke them. I got a non-alcoholic drink as well, that was very well made. Overall we had a wonderful dining experience before heading up to the mountains.

Special mention of the pancakes they make. They are so fluffy and soft, one of the best ones I have ever had. Must try.

There were five in our party, it was a Monday, and we arrived around 2:00 for a late lunch. It wasn't busy at that time of day but there were still plenty of diners at this popular place. I had heard it was very good for breakfasts, and our lunches did not disappoint either.

The Zeuben (zucchini Reuben on marble rye) I ordered was delicious, with sweet potato fries on the side. The others had green chili bison burger, prime rib sandwich, a Reuben on gluten-free brioche, and a salmon salad, and everyone raved.

The service was also good, friendly and attentive.

Having lived in the area since 1972 we had eaten in this place decades ago when it was the Bear Creek Inn. The view of creek and woods out the wall of windows is as beautiful as it always was, it's a great mountain ambience and nice to be back..

Food was great! A nice down home feel to everything. Staff were friendly and attentive, offering lots of suggestions.
My only complaint would be on the interior. It definitely needs some attention, with many areas fairly dirty. Hopefully this is something that they address during their slower season.

Blackbird Cafe and Tavern is a great restaurant for breakfast and we would be happy to return for lunch or dinner. We were looking for a breakfast spot after spending the night in Morrison and going to a show at Redrocks. I highly recommend the drive for the great food. The chorizo benedict was fantastic and the transitional breakfast was traditional. The side of pancakes was a nice addition and they are light and fluffy.

Great location and ambiance. Our server was friendly, attentive and fun. The food was delicious. The property is located next to a small stream where we sat and enjoyed the water flowing over stones, fall colors and a soft breeze. They also have their own pastry chef who we met while standing in front of the case drooling. She described each dessert and was so fun to chat with. Great experience overall!

About an hour wait at 1 pm for lunch on a Saturday, original estimate was 35 minutes for first available. The patio outside is cute, there’s a creek. The host was a very stand-offish man who stood silently and looked at people like Why are you here. I was confused and asked if this is a restaurant since hosts are welcoming, he sighed and said yes. He wiped down our table after an hour of us waiting, which was very lazily and a bunch of food debris from the last group remained on the table and chairs that we just brushed off ourselves in order to not have old food fly onto our plate or sit on it as well as create a more appetizing experience for ourselves. The waiter was fine. The food came out at a reasonable time. The green chile bison burger was fine; it tasted good but was bland to me. The sweet potatoes were good. The shrimp po boy was good. Because it’s outside, there’s nature so bees kept trying to land in my food while I was eating it. To me, this place is fine but not worth the hour wait or $25 for an adequate burger without even average hospitality.
